Yeah its incredible. One best arcs. I thought egghead was that, somehow this went above and beyond.
Another cruel twist of fate is that blackbeard went on to try and kill boa hancock. Only to be interrupted by Rayleigh.
While rocks sort of saved shakky.
Now this is an incredible culmination to all. Hell.
Every major knot has come to a straining point. Shanks, Blackbeard, Dragon (Fuckin dragon after ch100 we see where it began), rocks and roger. Whatever happens laid forth the inevitable.
I'm glad that oda actually fleshed god valley and it shaping out worse than Ohara or flevance.
I said in the last thread garp is foil to his own kid dragon. I was right. We see dragon witness the real face of the ruling class with zero obscurity. So does garp soon. But both go off into different fates.
Comparing Dragon and Garp is interesting because Garp hates doing the bidding of the Celestial Dragons but stays in the Marines to follow what he thinks is just. Dragon sees the brutality of the Celestial Dragons first hand and that leads him to leave the Marines to fight for freedom, something that Garp can't seem to understand.

Dragon breaking rank really puts to shame all of the marine characters in the story. Like there was always an option to refuse (Kuzan did it so hes cool, Koby doesnt hide behind his rank with sword).

I think there's different clans/lineages with the D, Law said his hidden name is Water Law. Maybe it's a sort of opposing version of the royal families that became the Celestial Dragons?

I don't think Harald was doing anything he was asked for. He gave rocks the info about surveillance and warded off his crew from interfering. And let rocks destroy his ship. And let him go. Don't think he goes to god valley. This is probably the last instance of them meeting.
God valley brings forth a specific duality.
Rocks who wants to save his child and kill the celestials occupying god valley.
Garling who sees children as tools or trophies. Doesn't see anyone beyond his own class as anything but human.
Harald who is unlike rocks is not willing to incur what's happening in god valley to elbaf but still needs gesture performance to the elite. Ultimately bit was all for nothing. Man got Gaddafi'd.
Dragon. Who I guess is the second person other than who will be tasked with freeing the captive slaves.
Shanks, shamrock and Blackbeard born in the most wretched conditions known to earth. Yet all three follow three different people.
Shanks sees roger's life and follows his will. Blackbeard still strongly follows his dad's will albeit knowing him little.
Then we have shamrock. Unlike the other two he follows garling, a slave owner. Becomes part of their class and serves their interests ardently.

Regarding a discussion in the previous thread with fan narratives or comprehension. I see a lot of that building around shakky or rocks and broadly god valley itself.
Lot of such shitty narrative exists around ace dying too. That ace couldn't stand admiral mocking newgate. Its not like ace is some more moron, him or other yonko commanders can keep up with these admirals. Him dying was a broader gesture that existed since the start. Shanks losing his arm to save luffy. Luffy pulls people towards him like that, its presented throughout the prison break and further. Ace out of sheer instincts jumping to protect luffy in a heartbeat without any forethought, is a testament to that. Ace could've had a different future or could have done more in life. But in that moment all that mattered to him was standing behind luffy. Even with whitebeard almost at death's door at that point ace still did that.
Now same sort of simplification surrounds shakky or rocks. Its floated online saying this is Troy situation with helen being shakky. That in and of itself on is a thin way to see this. Or worse that rocks is only going to god valley cause he or others are enchanted by shakky.
To break it further oda this chapter clearly put that god valley is the last refuge for holdovers of the void century. Namely rocks' own family. Rocks stating that needed to save his son and wife even though he puts a larger than life front for his crew, is on its own pretty harrowing. Rocks is walking into genocide if his remaining people. But he brings his crew along with the notion that they are gonna save shakky.
Of course some of the crew sort of guess it like newgate who thought it was a rumour. Its not to say they don't care about shakky, shakky is part of rocks group even if she isn't a pirate by the time.
The major theme for this whole arc is portrayal of the celestial class in their barbaric colonization of the remaining world after void century. Its about targeting different ethnic groups/races just cause they refuse to join WG protection racket. And also extermination of such people who at some point sided with ancient kingdom/joyboy. It permeates throughout by targeting said groups with slavery and genocide. Kuja women, fishmen, buccaneers, and now davy clan.
Targeting shakky or boa or shirahoshi or ginny brings us to a pattern emblematic to the slave owners. Often bleeding into real people like jefferson or leopold.
What I'm stating here above is not conjecture but the most literal stuff oda has hammered into the last few chapters.

Now of course there's two specific trajectories after this that change the course of everyone. One is roger and other is dragon. Both are shown as those who arrive at this god valley oblivious to the gravity of the situation. We know that dragon is going to be radicalized. I think roger will be too.
Roger after this is going to pursue the one piece. Why? What did he see here? What did he learn from rocks? Why did he take shanks? I guess time will tell.
That's a good point! I took a lot at Library of Ohara's OP timeline and Roger reaches Lodestar the year before God Valley and then begins his 14 year long journey to reach Laugh Tale.

Wanna add the other person almost as distraught as rocks seemed to whitebeard. Apart from roger he also took in kids from this. Whether blackbeard joined here or not is unclear.
But it seems plausible they fight garling. Cause when shanks meets whitebeard to talk, newgate mentions a scar that he got.

Cannibalism is definitely possible based on how Big Mom got her devil fruit powers, but we still don't know how Blackbeard has multiple fruits powers at the same time. I've seen a lot of fan theories about how his jolly roger having 3 skulls and the fact that Buggy said he doesn't sleep are hints he has some weird curse or something and now we have confirmation he was seemingly just a normal child that went through something really fucked up.
Calling himself "a worshipper of Davy Jones" seems like either a declaration to Imu that the Davy clan are still out there or that followers of Davy Jones as a figure has some sort of ideological opposition to Imu/WG
