The Chinese pilots bullying Canadians

Do we have a name for this "retraction propaganda"? Start with a bold and flimsy claim and walk it back into something totally mundane, but the damage has been done. Same thing with the atrocity propaganda about Hamas. Or the spy balloon that wasn't, or countless other examples.

It's a form of Motte-and-Bailey argument called "burying the lede"
I wonder if these GI Jagoffs feel like little crybabies after they tell some journalist that the Chinese are being too aggressive with them while they fly their American made jets on the other side of the planet to harass China
If you watch the video, the pilot is actually just giggling and impressed with the fighter pilot. The reporter is panicking and asking if this is an "aggressive intercept"
