it could be an homage, but it's not "nazi style" any more than a toxic chemical label is a Nazi style "Totenkoph"

it needs to have flat tops and bottoms to be "SS style"

Fuck ice, etc.

I don't see what NS split by a lightning bolt would refer to other than National Socialist - eg literally claiming affiliation/support to the Nazi party.

It is possible its something else and just incredibly bad fortune and an incredibly ignorant person who wouldn't get that connection is wearing it - but given the context that it's ICE.. I'm leaning to it being a nazi dog whistle to other like-minded ICE officers.

Regardless of how bad it is, the lightning bolt is clearly intended as nazi shit.

They're not good at making swastikas either, but no matter how deformed they still count as nazi shit.

I wish I could still find these as funny as the used to be.

What's the NS stand for though? Only thing that comes to mind to be labeled a nazi is "National Socialist"

Ah yes, "Nazi Sympathizer". Makes sense.

I think it's more likely that dude saw it and went "oh man that's fuckin siiiiiiccccccckkkkkk" probably has skull stickers on his truck too

I want to note that this is exactly what that actual Nazis did when they stole symbolisms from various cultures including the rune ᛋ and of course the swastica. Both of which represent the sun.

Related from my own defunct blog: Skulls in military symbolism are actually not particularly odd, as indicators of toughness and ferocity (and in Navy a nod to the Jolly Roger, which was partly an identifier of the pirate vessel, but also a call to surrender with the promise of quarter...)

Discussing the M&W Are We The Baddies skit and the preponderance of skulls in Waffen SS kitch.

why are people still surprised by things like this?

[-] notso@feddit.org 1 points 2 months ago

These thugs don't even have any reason to hide their convictions anymore at this point... The US is in dire need of denazification and it should begin with ICE and it's fascist employees. Prosecute the fuck out of this administration, it's henchmen and the billionaires that endorsed it.

Related: Why TF is ICE wearing camo if they're law enforcement?

[-] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Why are they wearing camo in a fucking city?

[-] pyre@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

there's actually a Wikipedia article about it here

That font also looks suspiciously similar to fraktur
