It literally couldn't be more zombie film.

“We got all of them. Except the big one with the distinctive scar and the human-like intelligence. The one that went back to strangle the head researcher immediately. He got away.”
"Sources close to the story are reporting that there was a message on the side of the overturned truck written in blood espousing 'radical leftist ideology'"
Season 1 will be amazing then fall right off in season 2 and it's corpse will shamble along for a decade on network tv.
Z Nation speed ran this by having a good first episode and then, well
I actually really liked it's serious prequel Black Summer both seasons. It wasn't exactly good but...
Season 1 Spoilers (CW possible implied SA)
I feel it really captured the chaotic nature of the early days of the zombie apocalypse. There's a bit where a character bursts into a house to take shelter and there's a man with gun whose taken 3 people hostage (2 men and 1 woman from memory), they are tied up and gagged and zero context is given. Is it an ex Husband seeking revenge? An opportunistic serial killer? No answers are given.
Later a middle aged woman is spotted in a car with a teenage girl. The woman has a handgun and makes a gesture to tell the characters to move away. Later we see the same car driven by two men, no older woman, but the teenager is in the back. And it's like we don't know who those men are? It could be her uncle and father or it could be much darker...
There's a bit where dozens or even hundreds of survivors who have managed to last a few days converge on a stadium where they are going to be rescued. They all have guns they point at each other hesitantly. Zombies keep running up to them and they all shoot the zombie then keep pointing them at each others. Eventually so many zombies are drawn by the gunfire they're all fighting at once. There's multiple moments where humans accidentally shoot each other in brutal crossfires because they're inexperienced and panicking.
Season 2 Spoilers
There's a whole episode where a former gang hitman whose been shot and is slowly dying works with another guy he once shot and left for dead. It's ambiguous to whether it's just absurd coincidence, hallucination or a ghost, something they never answer and it makes the episode better.
There are lots of zombies in this season. But most of the conflict is human on human. With chud survivalists lead by an ex-cop. Basically nearly every dies completely avoidable deaths and precious resources like shelter from winter/fuel/food/weapons are completely and utterly squandered. They had enough for everyone and could have survived together but selfish US individualist brainworms kills them.
It's wild how the writers of the show are capable of stuff like that but then they gave us colloidal silver zombie jesus and a zombie cheese wheel
Honestly that's why I enjoyed it, it's really stupid
Only if they get rid of the famous director who brought on all of the actors
All my homies hate AMC.
There's a follow-up from KLTV saying the monkeys weren't infected: https://www.kltv.com/2025/10/28/trunk-hauling-monkeys-infected-with-hepatitis-c-herpes-covid-overturns-highway/
jfc ofc they're not going to tell you they had rage virus that was only supposed to infect a chinese person
Psssf, lame
Were they at least aggressive?
I have never met a lab monkey that wasn't, and I don't blame them.
