Just firefox really, never had any real issues

[-] TheLeadenSea@sh.itjust.works 40 points 3 months ago

Firefox for Android doesn't use chrome and has extensions including adblockers

[-] runner_g@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 months ago

That also makes it the ideal YouTube app for Android

[-] Magister@lemmy.world 18 points 3 months ago

There is like 2 browsers, Firefox, or all the chromium based ones?

[-] cmnybo@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 3 months ago

That's pretty much it for Android currently. There are a few more choices for PC.

There is a new browser in development called Ladybird, but a stable release is still years away and they are focusing on desktop support first.

ironfox + ublock
fDroid repository = https://fdroid.ironfoxoss.org/fdroid/repo

firefox klar
for sites that i don't visit regularly which need java & cookies
fDroid guardianProject repository = https://guardianproject.info/fdroid/repo

[-] Cris_Color@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

That iron fox link doesn't seem to work

[-] merde@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago
[-] Cris_Color@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Hmmm

I'm not sure why its not working for me then

[-] merde@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago

maybe it "is not publicly accessible" for browsers and fDroid or droid-ify has permissions to connect to it as a repository.

did you try "add repository"?

you can also add https://gitlab.com/ironfox-oss/IronFox to obtainium.

[-] digger@lemmy.ca 10 points 3 months ago

I use the one that's funded by Google.

[-] breakcore@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 months ago

I see what you did there

[-] hexagonwin@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 3 months ago

i use fennec f-droid with ublock origin and numatrix

[-] yogthos@lemmy.ml 7 points 3 months ago

I primarily use Firefox

[-] JASN_DE@feddit.org 6 points 3 months ago

Define "best"?

[-] cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 3 months ago

Firefox. My daily driver is an iPhone and I just use Safari there, but we have uBlock Origin Lite now. But on Android it's Firefox with full fat uBlock Origin. As it happens, I'm on the Android device now! I love its keyboard so much. Apple couldn't make a keyboard to save their arse if it came to it.

[-] Ulrich@feddit.org 3 points 3 months ago

I tried iOS for about 5 months and the absolute worst part was the horrendous keyboard...

[-] Jack_Burton@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 months ago

Ironfox is ok. Though it's not fully open source (the ui isn't) I use Vivaldi

[-] altphoto@lemmy.today 4 points 3 months ago

Netscape Navigator 1.0. I think there's probably an update for it now.

[-] foremanguy92_@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Ironfox I think

EDIT : typo

Mull for everyday-use or Vanadium for pages which need a chromium-based browser

[-] pogmommy@lemmy.ml 10 points 3 months ago

Isn't mull discontinued? Work on it is continuing as IronFox

[-] radswid@feddit.org 4 points 3 months ago

oh, thx, I missed that news. time to change

[-] Dreaming_Novaling@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 months ago

I thought Fennec was the continuation of Mull, but I checked and you're right, it's IronFox. Am dummy.

[-] rulray@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 months ago

DuckDuckGo, i like the "burn everything" animation (and functionality, but mostly the animation)

Not much people know Iceraven, yet its pretty good android web browser I can trll. Extensions make it even better :)

[-] zemon@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 months ago

Iceraven for browsing, Ironfox for anything that screams "don't open this", Fennec for stored logins only and Cromite if I ever needed a Chromium browser.

[-] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Waterfox. For really powerless machines dillo or "links2 -g."

For android I just use firefox.

[-] zer0bitz@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

I've liked to use Fennec for few months now.

[-] rabbitcat@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 months ago

IronFox with ublock origin

[-] Ulrich@feddit.org 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Every browser that I know of is open source. But I use Orion!

[-] NeedyPlatter@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 months ago

I love Orion! It's a little clunky but I love being able to use the full UBlock Origin.

[-] 9skyguy0@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 months ago

I use Fennec F-Droid with uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Decentraleyes, and HTTPS Everywhere.

Though sometimes I've contemplated switching to the Guardian Project's Firefox Klar

[-] cdzero@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 months ago

Firefox and DuckDuckGo.

[-] mikedd@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Vanadium on phone and hardened Firefox on laptop.

[-] claudiom@blendit.bsd.cafe 1 points 2 months ago

On Android, I use Firefox. If Falkon were available on Android, I'd use that as well. I use both of those on Linux and BSD.

[-] bluemoon@piefed.social 1 points 3 months ago

StartPage browser and one simply named Browser with a blue shield icon

[-] KarnaSubarna@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 months ago

Firefox since v1.0.1 RC :)

[-] DFX4509B@lemmy.wtf 1 points 2 months ago

IronFox for Android, at least until Google blocks it, and LibreWolf for desktop.

[-] BrikoX@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 months ago

Best is subjective and recommendations would depend on your use case. Iceraven is my primary.

[-] LemUrun@pawb.social 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I use Ultimatum. It's more sirious take on Chromium with extension support, which was only a test.

https://github.com/gonzazoid/Ultimatum

[-] sudoer777@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 months ago

Vanadium for web apps, Cromite with auto delete for random websites, and IronFox with various plugins for web searches
