I have a signal. I can call fine. I can text fine. I can use wi-fi fine. But any time I try to connect to the internet using mobile data, it tells me there's no connection. The phone is a Galaxy A02s. Here's everything I've tried:

  • Making sure mobile data is on (it is)
  • Making sure I can send and receive calls and SMS messages (I can)
  • Toggling mobile data off, then back on
  • Toggling airplane mode off, then back on
  • Turning the phone off, then back on
  • Removing and reinserting the SIM card

I have this awful feeling I'll get stuck in tech support hell, but I don't see many alternatives at this point.

You might need to try editing the APN names. However what these should be changed to is different between companies. Calling tech support is the best place to start, unfortunately. Just got to get it over with.

See if you can reach a website by its ip address. If you can then you’ll know you have a dns problem.

Another thing to try: toggling a vpn. Even if you don't use one regularly you might be in a situation where it works with but not without

Use some air duster on the sim card slot. there might be some lint or dust inside the hole.
