"What would be the point of ruining their foreshortened little lives if they were too high to suffer for our amusement?"

Slotkin in the yeas. What does she think the signs on 75 advertising the "unofficial state flower" are for?

Wait so is weed illegal federally in the states now?

[-] felixwhynot@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

I think that was already the case, but I believe this closed the “concentrated hemp” loophole

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 0 points 2 months ago

I thought it was legal in some states

[-] Cethin@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

It is legal in some states. CBD, and some hemp products, were federally legal, but generally it wasn't. However, the federal restrictions usually weren't enforced if you lived in a state where it was legal, unless you worked for the federal government.

The need to recriminalise it so they can promise to decriminalise in the next election

I saw a conspiracy theory that they're doing this to kill all the small businesses that got a head start on weed then they'll legalize it fully federally right before the 2026 election. That way big business gets more market share and people vote Republican. I don't think it's true, I think Republicans just hate us, but I can hope

Delta 9 is still illegal either way. This would undo a thing Biden did which made CBD and other Cannaboids federally legal. It's mainly a harm reduction thing.

The 2018 farm bill was a piece of Trump legislation, it was a money thing.

[-] LodeMike@lemmy.today 2 points 2 months ago

Then what did Biden do? Hm. Sorry.

[-] khepri@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

It was an accidental thing, from what I understand, they did not intend that farm bill to spawn the industry that it did.

That implies they're too stupid to legislate the thing they are trying to and should just withold from legislation.
