Phantom Brigade, the turn-based mech tactics game, had a huge update a week or so ago that I've been meaning to play.

But I also have a huge library book I gotta get through before it's due back.

Working my way through metaphor refantazio. And decompressing from work and family holiday stress with power wash simulator 2.

[-] Commie_Chameleon@hexbear.net 4 points 2 days ago

I just finished power wash sim 2 it’s great, hope you enjoy!! Petting the cats on every level will help you maximize your decompressing comfy

It's so good, I can just zone out and focus on cleaning things. I've already got like 30 hours in it.

Time Stranger, Arc Raiders, Zomboid B42 Multiplayer, Let it Die Inferno (maybe), Nightreign DLC.

I want to like LiD:I but I’ve been having a hard time having fun with it though I’m not ready to give up yet. The combat mechanics seem worse than the OG LiD and the extraction gameplay is fine. Idk the more I think about it, its just not a game I can recommend people.

I've been chipping away at Celeste's strawberries and B sides, I'm trying to do the summit's B side right now. Fuck it's hard.

[-] SickSemper@hexbear.net 4 points 2 days ago

Is Celeste good if I’m bad at twitch reflex stuff? I want to play it for the story lol

Reactions are not super important imo, you are intended to die a lot and then go through the section knowing what to do. You get a temporary save point every screen so you don't lose progress either, a lot of it is actually executing the inputs that you already know. So you have to do some quick inputs but you aren't expected to react, you can see and know from previous attempts when you have to do them. If that makes sense. Everything is mostly predetermined.

Main story is also, while difficult, B sides etc is a big step up. Just the main story took me like 10 hours its not bad, I would definitely rec.

Ok great, sold. I loved the vibe but heard a lot of talk about difficulty so I passed

[-] AernaLingus@hexbear.net 3 points 1 day ago

It's also got an extremely granular assist mode which you can adjust on the fly to do things like slow down the game in 10% intervals, give yourself an extra jump, or give yourself unlimited stamina. I haven't used it myself, but the devs put the feature in there so that no one will be deterred from finishing the game out of frustration. So if you get to a point where you're feeling like throwing in the towel, don't hesitate to test it out!

What's nice about it being something you can change at will is that you can use it just to give you that extra push past difficult spots, which is something you can't do with a difficulty mode that is locked in at the start. But it's equally valid to just take the edge off of it the whole way through if you're not the kind of person that enjoys bashing your head against the wall (for better or for worse, I am that kind of masochist).

I picked up Metroid: Dread for my Switch and I am thinking of picking up the Metroid Prime remaster as well.

Other than that, probably Minecraft and board games.

Diablo 2 and three on switch, plus a Star Wars gacha game. Holiday decompression brainrot

The Holy Gosh Darn

This Christmas is going to be hilarious.

[-] Griffus@lemmy.zip 0 points 1 day ago

And just bought Tiny Glade for some relaxing and cozy gameplay.

I'm also halfway through Overvåkerne that I starter the other day, an absolutely hilarious Norwegian game I really have to recommend for anyone able to understand it.
