The gamer motivation categories they are selling are not exhaustive categories, and while they publish some graphs and excerpts I don't see any link to their full survey data or methodology.
My intuition is they are not against AI, they're against trashy corporate LLMs filling their games with boring, uninteresting, slop instead of a well made directed experience (narrative games, rollercoaster type experience), an engaging open world simulation, or competitive round based games like king of the hill or arena shooter. AI dungeon was fun six years ago, if there's nothing more advanced than that then the gimmick is already spent.
