  • The Grand Theft Auto Series
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Assassin's Creed III
  • Resident Evil (I know the fourth one isn't set in America but it's about rescuing the President's daughter, which is about as American as you can get)
  • The Battlefield series
  • CyberPunk 2077
  • Wolfenstein: The New Colossus
  • Mother 2
  • Max Payne, Alan Wake, Control, all the games by those guys
  • Hitman: Blood Money
  • Deadly Premonition
  • Mafia II
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  • Contra
  • Metal Wolf Chaos XD
  • Mizzurna Falls
  • Homefront: The Revolution
  • Crysis II
  • Expedition 33
  • Yakuza
  • Toad's Turnpike
  • Super Mario Odyssey (City Level)

I'm sick of all these European fantasy games like Skyrim or games about the Middle East like Call of Duty.

Nothing more American than lawsuits.

[-] Umechan@hexbear.net 12 points 2 months ago

Nothing American about wokeness. It should be AlloCisHet Male Attorney, but you're not allowed to say that anymore.

Phoenix Wright: Solo Poly Attorney

And death penalties given out on vibes

[-] tombruzzo@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

Of course. I haven't played those games because I'm not as up to date on my turn based RPGs

The game starts with being infected by the woke mind virus and you need to stop yourself from turning into a liberal

homefront: the revolution was neat. bold game design choice to have you play as the villains.

[-] tombruzzo@hexbear.net 17 points 2 months ago

Homefront: The Revolution is an Underrated Gem that is Worth Playing In 2026 because it's based on the terrifying premise of what if The US experienced 1% of what they do overseas everyday. Truly a Modern Masterpiece in Survival Horror.

[-] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 17 points 2 months ago

The first Homefront has a scene where you press F to hide in a mass grave at a White Castle parking lot, truly American.

[-] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

i'm not certain that this isn't a joke and that's a wonderful feeling

[-] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

I got it wrong, the ”press E to jump in a mass grave” scene isn't at a White Castle. You do have a firefight at a White Castle though, so it's still very American. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Z-kTBvfO1Pk

The year is 2027. The world as we know it is unraveling after fifteen years of economic meltdown and widespread global conflict over dwindling natural resources. A once proud America has fallen, her infrastructure shattered and military in disarray.

inshallah

isn't it that one where North Korea invades America?

Don't forget the cerebral contemplation on US imperial power that is Katamari Damacy

Payday was made by Europeans but it's hilarious how cops just shoot civilians. Shame the company turned out so scummy. They did get rid of one of their execs who embezzled a bunch of money. I think that guy is still in prison.

I like how if a cop oblitrrates a hostage or a civ in payday 2 the gang gets blamed for it

Minecraft, but the only way to regenerate health is the American healthcare system

[-] tombruzzo@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

Would you rather the hunger system they added for 1.0 or American Healthcare? I know which one I'd pick

[-] 30_to_50_Feral_PAWGs@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

You know damn well it's going to have both, but having a full hunger bar doesn't heal you

Assassin's Creed III

This was made primarily by Ubisoft Montreal.

[-] Orcocracy@hexbear.net 13 points 2 months ago

That’s the joke, isn’t it? None of the games on the list were made in the USA.

[-] Muinteoir_Saoirse@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago

Yeah, I was just picking AC3 out to make a joke about Canada being a US state, but thank you for assuming I didn't understand the original post at all.

[-] Orcocracy@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Yes I did see your joke, thank you. Just out of curiosity: Why make the joke about AC3 and not one of the other made in Canada games about the US? Again, this is not meant as an insult or a malicious assumption or whatever, I’m just genuinely curious.

[-] Muinteoir_Saoirse@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

This is proof that Canada is just a US state, thank you for bringing this essential bit of gaming history to light

A game About America by the funny talking members of the 51st state? Sounds pretty American to me

[-] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

How many of these were made in the past 5 years?

Also I can't believe you forgot elden ring

[-] tombruzzo@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

My point exactly, the American Games Industry is dying. The most recent one on here is Cyberpunk, it just came out. And it was such a buggy mess they had to take it off playstation

Max Payne 1 and 2 remake coming using the AW2/control engine and i'mfuckin puuuuuuuuumped plus Control 2 holy shit

[-] tombruzzo@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

I'd be pretty pumped for updated Max Payne. Although I do like the old school mouse keyboard controls, I think a modernisation will help it find new love

[-] LENINSGHOSTFACEKILLA@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago

I've been replaying Control over the weekend and its made me just that much more excited for the remake. all the destruction and havok physics is so awesome.
