My friend

We share democratic values regarding the bombing of muslims

however

Greenland is not Muslim

After Davos, please come to a meeting I've set up with a bunch of politicians on the CIA's payroll

On Thursday, I have invited Roman Polanski over for dinner... BYOC.

(bring your own child)

Macron is into mommies not kiddos

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 55 points 3 months ago

The only thing he doesn't deserve to be criticised for.

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 37 points 3 months ago

Wasn't he groomed by his wife?

[-] MaoTheLawn@hexbear.net 19 points 3 months ago

he's just hospitable

'Goddamn cheap-ass Macrons always throwing BYOCs knowing Emmanuel counts as his own groomed child victim, forcing the rest of us have to pop down to nuevo-Esptein's to get another! the gall!'

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 28 points 3 months ago

Did you know Epsteins' Island was sold to the US by the danish?

[-] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 15 points 3 months ago

Yeah just read about that yesterday, should just trade it back for greenland

[-] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 8 points 3 months ago

Why did Denmark have it to sell if it was his private island

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago

They landed a boat there some time ago

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 20 points 3 months ago

Come to Macrons BBBQ
The extra B is for BBYOC

[-] mattyroses@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 3 months ago

What's that other extra B for?

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 17 points 3 months ago

That's a typo

[-] RedSturgeon@hexbear.net 68 points 3 months ago

macron Greenland has already been colonized, Trump what are you doing? We're both part of the empire. Let's just keep expanding it South.

trump-anguish Whose empire?

[-] spudnik@hexbear.net 53 points 3 months ago

This is like the "second time as farce" version of Trotsky publishing all the major powers secret agreements regarding WW1

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 23 points 3 months ago

If trump is Trotsky, then who is Stalin?

[-] spudnik@hexbear.net 31 points 3 months ago

Hmmm, maybe the farce continues and we just don't get a Stalin this time? Idk, I don't want to insult Stalin by comparing him to any living western politician

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 17 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Could also be we're in the mirror-world timeline and Hillary was the liberal Stalin, but instead she's the one getting icepicked in Mexico. She did go on to make a bunch of "documentaries" (reality TV) which is the modern worlds version of a newspaper.
Obama could also be Stalin.
Also fits with Trump being Trotsky since he's the one who has made the most reality TV

[-] spudnik@hexbear.net 20 points 3 months ago

I sure have opened a can of worms here lol.

Obama could also be Stalin.

I feel like I've heard this before thonk

[-] calidris@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago

We're not fortunate enough to have a Stalin this time.

[-] Transform2942@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Surprised no one has made the Putin comparison.

Not arguing that he's a Leninist but in terms of building industrial and national might over decades under constant attack from the West, Putin:

Rebuilt the RF from the "shock therapy" of the 90s into a true sovereign great power. Brought the oligarchs under the control of the state and out of politics. Rebuilt the partnership with the Chinese. Western defeat in Ukraine is now a fait accompli, Russia will get all of their "maximalist demands" and more. They will likely reclaim all three of the Black Sea jewels founded by Catherine the Great. Very world-historical-figure to me

He gets off on people seeing 'powerful' people grovelling to him and/or is countering the USasian libs 'the rest of the world is laughing at us' (not entirely untrue)assertions

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 39 points 3 months ago

There's an infinite amount of explanations ranging from the realm of macchiaveli to that of whomever alzheimers is named after

[-] miz@hexbear.net 30 points 3 months ago

wild guess here but I think his name was Alzheimer

[-] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 18 points 3 months ago

Probably morbid to say, but I feel like we're really fortunate that so many of these diseases are named after people with fairly unique names; can you imagine if it was called 'Jim's', or 'Jones', or even somewhat funny ones like 'McDonald's'

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 16 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

There's apparently a Jones-smith syndrome
Looking through the list the general tendency is that if the name is common (like Marie in Marie Antoniette Syndrome) then they either use the surname or the full name or they use the names of more than one individual

edit: I was wrong, there is a "Todd Syndrome" although Todd is a surname

[-] Parzivus@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Todd Syndrome

"We are copacetic on the global South, but the West is supposed to be where the line is drawn; come on man"

Literally NATO crumbling and Europe cozying up to China instead and making China their new overlord would be the best outcome; America decides to invade a country in the global South? Europe at best says nothing, at worst literally participates. China on the other hand I don't see invading Zambia, Morocco, Peru, Mexico or Yemen any time soon, so Euros being on board with it won't be an issue that comes up.

"bUt ChiNa WiLL iNvAdE tAiWaN"

Pick:

  1. Nah

  2. Who cares

I don't believe China will invade Taiwan cause as far as they're concerned they already own Taiwan and unless America is planning on a Taiwanese missile crisis, they have no reason to military intervene in Taiwan; in the unlikely event that they do, I genuinely don't care. They can have a little invasion as a treat.

Literal millions have died in the global South and the average discussion with a Euro on why the global South SHOULD align with China, a discussion bringing up that America's murdered millions of people in the global South and overthrown their governments, is met with "Typical stupid person! These countries are dictatorships, or didn't you know!"

Very useful to learn that even in Europe the lives of people in the global South is considered expendable because we don't like their system of governance, or to put it more accurately: that they're also okay with it because the media tells us it's okay.

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 24 points 3 months ago

It's incredible how obvious this has been for years and yet european leaders still decided to go all-in against Russia and China. I'm sure some of them are CIA stooges, but I'm sure a larger amount are just smarmy libs. Either way they're all interested in being a Big Fish in their part of the european pond for years to come, and that would require a somewhat cogent analysis.
But instead we go along with war in Ukraine, russian sanctions, chinese sanctions, blowing up Nordstream and I don't know what else.

Weirdly Petty / Specific hot take:

There's something unprofessional about world leaders talking over text with each other for anything of importance.

spoilerOrganize calls ahead of time through staff members or something. You're not giving them your drivethru order you're talking about militaries moving here.

Also, I'm not writing a world leader a text, what if they read the tone wrong?! I'm not risking that. We're having a call. I'm in the office taking notes.

If it's not that important just send my office a memo. I'm working with and paying people to handle and sort mundane communiques so I can do the world-leader specific tasks extra good. They can set up the meetings and tell me who's asking that's their job, I pay them, I trust them, I'm sure they're good at it.

My phone is for sonic jiggly knee fetish fanfiction not the "president" of "France".
