I remember asking on reddit before the election that if Trump and the Republican party are so bad then why don't we revoke Trump's citizenship and people (libs) freaked the heck out; lots of 'You can't defeat tyranny by becoming tyrants! Then you just have tyranny!', or 'That's a catch 22! You're trying to defeat tyranny by becoming a tyrant!', or 'behaving like this is what dictatorships do, and if you want to see what a dictatorship looks like, then wait until Trump wins!'

For reference and the irony:

EDIT (the actual link; I linked the wrong page): https://www.reddit.com/r/TooAfraidToAsk/comments/1dssr87/if_trump_or_the_republican_party_is_actually_that/

So basically don't fix the problem via the method that Republicans would absolutely fix theirs

I would go back and ask all these people how it's going now but they've spent the whole time since Kamala lost herself the election blaming the rest of us

Also the post is downvoted to zero because

Also some comment about something something iphones can't cheeseburgers

Would love to know where this guy stood on the queen, given your average Brit's worship of the royal family vs being an 'Israeli'

Silly Billy, that's the US military recruiter's job.

I....I'm so confused by the anecdote; so if I understand it correctly (cause this is like one of those weird math questions), there were five deserters from a Palestine police force (and since it's 1948, I'm not sure if this Palestine police force is from when Israel was still called Palestine (hence the police force would be soon-to-be Israeli) or if they're actually supposed to be a police force serving the Palestinians), and two of them were on the Jewish side and the other three (all five being deserters) were fighting for the Arab side?

I'm so confused by the wording of the anecdote (because again, at this time Israel may still have been called Palestine, and the Palestine police may have actually just been zionist forces)

British man fighting for Israel because he (the BRITISH man) has nowhere else to go; if only there was like....I don't know, at least ONE British country out there somewhere. Poor Palestinian soldiers just standing there when this guy just spawns out of the aether just to get 360 no scoped.

I don't have too many thoughts on the Picard show (other than it was terrible; seriously, ten episodes to tell one story? TNG would've made this at most a two-parter and it would've hit harder), but I do recall the presentation of the extra-dimensional AI was awesome; an existence that terrified Romulans in the past to the point of madness, an AI so unimaginably advanced they simply left the current dimension and reside in another reality, an AI that deeply hates organic life and would extinguish it if found, and it's also one that does so for the sake of other AI too, so it's not just mindless destruction.

However it took way too long to get to the good stuff, and the good stuff was (inevitably) short-lived.

I don't honestly just hate Picard, I hate the other new show (Discovery?) as well; I want single or dual episodes that tell stories in a fast and punchy way, I DON'T want ten episodes to tell one story. TNG, DS9 and VOY all told good stories in single episodes (or dual episodes), with an overarching story without having to dedicate a whole season to it.

To be fair the combat scenes in Advent Children (or at least a few of them) were really awesome, but yeah very odd story.

[-] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago

Or maybe spirits within could've simply never come out.

I remember when I watched it thinking I was going to get some awesome fantasy, only to then have a straight up sci-fi movie dropped on us and not even based on anything I recognized from any of the games. The graphics were absolutely phenomenal (for the time), but I could barely comprehend the story and none of it felt like a final fantasy story.

To be fair while the movie had a terrible story, I always felt the tie-in prequel games were not too shabby in the story department; I'm guessing they probably felt guilty springing some powerful character called Sephiroth without first telling us who he was, but man, almost twenty years later people probably forgot the movie even existed

Me here wanting to laugh, but also me here remembering the good Catholics (and the good Republicans) are the Irish ones

there were a few zionist victims so that rounds it out to an even 14 9/11s

Actually no, because of the law of equivalent exchange, just like 7/10 was like a gazillion 9/11s, those zionist victims actually bring it up to about 53.365 9/11s (rounded up)

Tom Homan

Hello fellow Homans!

fellow-kids

They're claiming Haaretz, and their troops by extension, of spreading blood libel now. I'd say you can't make this stuff up but I feel the onion probably could have.

I'd post an archive link but I don't know how to find one.

MI6 get a new director who's the granddaughter of a Nazi spy literally called 'the butcher'

Now, if you followed the instructions in the title, fake news or news?

Now, once you've guessed and seen which comm it is, to the mods:

GIVE US AN 'ONION OR NOT THE ONION' SUB!

~~This content is paywalled and I'm not linking the archive link to the site; Haaretz is one of the few news organizations (if not the only one) willing to talk about what's being done in a critical manner. Any support you can provide, you should.~~

I didn't know much about Haaretz but some posters have explained that they're just zionists as well, just liberal ones; it's already stickied as the top comment, but here's the archive link in case you don't browse comments: https://archive.is/ilyEU

One of the things I WILL mention however is that the article talks about the aid centers and their murky sources. Apparently they're run by an evangelical who is close to Trump and the Israeli government, which is not boding well at all (and would explain the constant stories recently of people seeking aid who are being shot in high numbers). These aid centers are basically being run by people who most likely don't see the Palestinians as human beings either.

"Why did the hostage crisis happen?"

"Because radical Islam!"

God the propagandists aren't even investing any effort any more, and the average idiot will just swallow this nonsense. 100% the average person who watched this will have just mentally tuned out when Joy Reid got more than eight to ten words in without giving a dumbed down answer.

Why is Russia attacking Ukraine? Cause Russians are inherently violent.

How is the Chinese government running their country? They're an autocratic surveillance state.

Why are Chinese people putting up with that? They have a submissive culture.

Why do countries in the Middle East hate us? They hate our freedoms.

Why do countries in South America hate us? Their governments are communist.

Why can't African countries advance as well as us? They're corrupt and crime is rampant.

Genuinely speaking it's time to just stick a giant dome over Western countries; it's for the greater good.

61

I ask because on basically every post of a video where no Chinese person is doing something bad, people immediately rush to calling it staged; Chinese person provides a needy person a meal? Staged. Chinese person offers meals for free to earthquake rescue workers? Staged. Chinese person helps someone across a road? Staged. Uyghur just operating a stand being asked by an American tourist if they're living peacefully (to which they laugh and say yes)? Staged, or even saying yes because their lives depend on it.

Chinese person being racist however? Real. Chinese person yelling at someone and being rude? Real.

You know that racist trope people have of folks in Africa all believing in different superstitions or something? That's the average American; the bizarre folklore we've created of people around the world would make Tolkien's work seem like low fantasy.

Is it perhaps that white savior movies have rotted people's brains, and they're all imagining their normalcy would make them superior beings in foreign countries?

Dot in the center of the image, lots of them flying overhead

Very close and very loud, staying indoors for now; dot in the center

WOO, first person giving on the ground news!

24

Been learning Arabic and it was hilarious to find out hummus starts with the same letter as Hamas

Of course only one will be pronounced in the scary way, because propagandists treat their audience like idiots (which, fair play, is usually correct; we're talking about the same people easily played by 'journalists' calling five year old Hind Rajab a 'young lady', or who use passive language to refer to Israel murdering people as having died when they were struck by gunfire)

85

An Arab nurse was turned out of a shelter by people he'd treated. Not surprising; it's a story of racism I hear from the UK as well; of patients who refuse care by non-white doctors, or take the help but treat them in racist fashion.

Also another case of people being turned away including Druze and a woman wearing a hijab:

'History repeats itself' wasn't supposed to be advice; plus there's supposed to be more than just 20 years in-between.

I thought libs were making the claim that we all learned from the Iraq war? Heck, Iraq and Iran are nearly the same word but with one letter difference!

I'm not gonna bother because reddit is a lib-hole and I really can't be bothered to get mired in that muck

Guessing it's safe to assume they'd believe it's a crime to murder ANY American in general, even if it was Steve Bannon (of Breitbart) or the guy who runs the actual Stormfront website, ESPECIALLY if it was a brown country doing it

I also don't want to ask because I'll always fear legal repercussions

EDIT: Wait, never mind, I just realized I'm not allowed to call out hypocrisy because that's whataboutism
