At very least use VeraCrypt, not backdoored bit locker.

Still, Windows has an universal backdoor, Microsoft can copy the keys from memory (together with all your files or access your camera/mic at any moment. If you have to use windows, I recommend never letting it connect to the internet. Or else use GNU/Linux and luks.

(Note that I meant that MS can copy the keys from memory from any internet connected unlocked device, they can't unlock a very crypt encrypted system if they haven't used the backdoor previously to extract the key).

The point is, don't expect any privacy from windows, unless it's isolates from the internet.

Got a sauce for that? Cause that’s a lawsuit by some very rich corporate customers, especially if some hackers or an angry employee got access to said control system.

The topic of the article though I can understand as a “feature” for normies so that they don’t lose all their data by accident.

jokes on them i'm already on linux (been since 2018). Failing that i'd honestly use veracrypt, just so that the key is with you and only you, but considering how invasive MS is with their copilot idk if i would really trust them not seeing anything.

i'd honestly sue veracrypt

What the heck did veracrypt do to you?

Sure, you can buy Windows 11 Pro and follow these steps, or just install any modern Linux distro and tick the box "encrypt disk" in the installer.

The best part of Linux is the schadenfreude of watching Microsoft turn windows more and more into a nightmare, and laughing from the comfort of open source freedom.

Aka Laughs in Linux.

This has been the real answer to every "how to do this thing that windows fucks up" article I've seen for years now. People need to start writing articles that start with "how to switch to linux" and leave the workaround as a last resort.
