Anyone here play the Styx: Master of Shadows games? I heard about them for the first time last week. So few stealth games these days. There was Evotinction too but that's like almost a puzzle game that uses stealth as the puzzle system.
I'd heard of them a few years ago but only just started one last night. Solid but yet to get far into it.
If you like stealth games in the deus ex genre I may recommend Skin Deep. My namesake game. A weird neon colored game of sneaking around spaceships and saving cats. Awesome
There was that brief moment when starcraft 2 was the hottest game on twitch and i thought the new era of esports was going to have RTS as king.
Unfortunately it didn't play out like that because every rts that's come out since has had such a tiny niche competitive community.
I also played every splinter cell up to the end of ps2 they rule
Sometimes my aging brain thinks back to the days when they made good games and then my back starts hurting
Just wait until your knees start hurting too.
The recent Hitman games felt like the last gasp of big ambitious stealth games. There's still some solid indie work, but a good big budget stealth game hits the spot in a certain way.
I used to love RTS games when I was young, now they don't really do anything for me. I do kind of regret missing out on Starcraft 2's story, but dear God do I hate how they gave us Starcraft 2 with only the marine campaign, and then turned the Zerg and Protoss campaigns into their own DLCs, forcing us to have to wait until who knows when to see the rest of the storyline.
Warcraft 3 gave us a full story and it ended with the end of the game; the DLC gave us a continuation on the story.
I also remember I used to enjoy age of empires; I used to enjoy having my villagers cut down forests, clear out mines, and even hunt nearby animals, and sure, eventually I'd get around to the combat portion of the game; now though I've kind of lost my patience for it and it doesn't amuse me like it used to. I remember one of the fun things I'd do is bait an enemy to walk out their portcullis, because once it was open I could send in my army while it was still open for their units.
As for stealth games, I think I only have patience for MGS, not much else to be honest (not that I played many of them). I enjoyed the original thief ages ago, but it doesn't really do anything for me any more.

This was bullshit and i never even played the campaign(thousands of 1v1 matches tho)
Still needed to buy them to play ranked ladder which i hated.
my retvrn genre is arena shooters, but i can't be too sad about it because i don't have the reflexes for that shit these days anyway
You’d think that but i managed to destroy a few people much younger than I at a convention that had a lan setup of quake world. The projectiles and leading aim is beyond them and finding a route around the map or holding power positions. They didnt manage to get a single kill on me just casually hopping around my route coming at me with no armour and the spawn weapon.
Games
Tabletop, DnD, board games, and minecraft. Also Animal Crossing.
