Genuine question: Does anyone actually find the Beyond Meat products to be a suitable replacement for meat? Like, I gave it a shot intentially once, and didn't really like it, but I also once got given it accedently at a fast food place and didn't look at the packaging. When I bit into it, I thought the meat had gone off or something, and didn't realize what had happened until I tried to return it. Its not like I'm against cutting back on meat or that, but I'd rather have something like a tofu burger over Beyond Meat.

They're alright, but mostly because they are an alternative to endless tofu. They had a competitor who did "chicken" chunks that really did taste remarkably close to shitty, greasy chicken.

I think Beyond Burgers are so good they entirely negate the need for meat based burgers. In fact I've had multiple vegan and veggie friends say they can't eat them because they're too meat-like.

I mostly eat vegan food, and find beyond meat reasonably keeps my meat craving at bay. But I agree it is not the same as meat.

They're wrong:

The actual problem is that they presumed that they'd be insta-embraced by the market, when in fact they have to market & grow their customer-base, same as normal businesses do.

Which is .. executive-narcissism? corporate-narcissism?

Something like that.

I'd say their actual problem was being expensive in comparison to real meat
