Is there an "standard" Windows 11 debloat script or software that I could use? Things like removing bloatware, and disabling as many of the AI features as possible?

Also, to head this off, I can't use Linux because my mouse is unsupported.

Thanks!

Edit: I used WinUtil. Thanks again!

1>Says it can also print the current DPI, so I imagine that it’d be pretty straightforward to do a shell script of maybe three lines or so that cycles resolution through your favored resolutions when invoked. Doesn’t show an example of the exact output of the command, though, so I can’t tell you exactly what to run.

I installed it. The output from razer-cli --dpi print is just my dpi (1400).

11>I use Sway, and Sway can be configured to invoke commands when a button or key or whatever is pressed, so you’d just have it run said script.1

I'm specifically trying to bind a button to dpi/sensitivity cycling.

Was this using On-board memory, because my mouse doesn't have any?

As best as I can tell, it doesn't support anything related to DPI.

For years, I've used a Razor Naga with DPI switching on one of the side buttons, and for years before that, it was a Logitech G600. I've just installed Linux for the first time in a while only to realize Razor doesn't offer support, and Polychromatic doesn't offer button remapping.

Is there any way to rebind my mouse, or will I have to go back to Windows to keep using my mouse?

1Edit: plz send help fast. I am typing "1" into every window I open. I need rebind this before I break something.1

Edit21: Is there a way to bind a sensitivity toggle to the mouse button event more directly?

Edit 3: I've run out of time to work on this, so I'll need to install Windows for the time being. I might come back to it if I ever get a weekend free.

I know this is a pretty common question, but the Google results don't seem to offer a good solution and are mostly aimed at people who already know Linux.

I am looking to switch from Windows, where I have my OS and whatever big game I'm currently playing on my 128GB SSD, and everything else (games, most software, documents, ect.) on my 2TB HDD. ELI5, How would I replicate this on Linux? I'm planning on installing Mint, but am open to using Bazzite if it offers any additional tools for this sort of this.

I'm a Windows 10 user hoping to switch to Linux over Windows 11. One of my common uses for my computer is VR, via a Valve Index. Is this going to be a problem for me? I know historically, its been pretty bad, and ProtonDB shows very mixed ratings, but I also know Linux has been improving fast so am hoping that others will disagree with that.

I'd like to be able to do a little bit of programming here or there when out or about (or just away from my desk). I'm not expecting to compile anything, or even do proper version control, I'm just hoping for something more equivalent to writing code in Notepad++, although more features would obviously be welcome.

Is there anything good for this, that is available on Android, works offline and supports c#?

The main problem is it turning itself on with no input from or feedback to the user, and not giving the user access to the key without using a Microsoft account. I've heard of people getting screwed by this because they set up with a local account and thus never got their secureboot key (or did, but it was hidden somewhere and they were never told to save it).

The fact that I can't tell if this is parody or not is sad.

I was curious how the activity stats on the sidebar are calculated. I was looking through the GitHub, but I'm not familiar with Rust, so I was having trouble parsing everything.

Would anyone be able to point me to the relevant section on github?

My partner is interested in learning some of the games I play, so I'm trying to find some introductory games to get her used to the common control schemes.

Off the top of my head, it'd probably have to be games that...

  • Have few inputs beyond the basics
  • Are not difficult or punishing
  • Are approachable mechanically (So as not to overwhelm them when they're focus on learning basic controls)
  • 2D is probably preferable, since its easier to understand and process whats happening at a glance.
  • Multiplayer would probably also be a strong bonus, but also not required

The only game that particularly comes to mind is Portal, but hopefully others will have some better ideas.

I'm trying to find a decent wireless headset for day-to-day use. It'd be for a lot of teleconferencing as well as some gaming, music, and other normal stuff. In particular, I'm looking for a pair of over-ears, since wearing on-ears or in-ears for longer periods is uncomfortable (esspecially with glasses), want something with a fold-up or removeable microphone to prevent damage, and have a pretty limited budget: $200CAD, equivalent to about $100USD.

My standards aren't that high for general quality, but I wasn't finding much that met my criteria. As-is I was debating between the Logitech Vibe 100 (Seemed like it was decent all-around, and it comes in white or pink, which is a bonus) or the Corsair Void RGB Elite (mainly for the large ear cups). I know both these options are pretty gamer-y, which is usually bad, and the Corsair headset is ancient, but I haven't really found anything that looks better. Does anyone have any better options?

Edit: The Logitech G733 also looks promising.

I saw this posted a couple days ago which pretty succinctly summarizes the current state of the market.

Commented this a year ago, and its just as relevant today.

Okay, but any significant plans to make the launcher or store itself worth using?

There's also itch.io, which is great. It does have a lack of game selection, but we're comparing it to GOG, so...

From what I could track down, here is all the available data on the polling methodology:

The Empower “Secret to Success” study is based on online survey responses from 2,203 Americans ages 18+ fielded by Morning Consult from September 13-14, 2024. The survey is weighted to be nationally representative of U.S. adults (aged 18+).

It also comes not from a polling company, but from a company that provides financial news, and financial services. No potential conflict of interest there...

Basically, the data is near-worthless.

Skibidi Toilet is a serious of SFM shorts that became popular with young kids. Think in the same vein as the weird flash videos or early SFM videos that were popular with young kids 10-15 years ago. "Skibidi" doesn't mean anything and is just taken from that.
