The guards who were supposed to check on him that night were online shopping after receiving large bank deposits days earlier...

If Biden had just investigated this shit when president it likely would have stopped trump. And he might have even been in jail before the last election.

There's just so many different single things he could have done to prevent this, but that geriatric fuck we all held our noses for seemed to intentionally make the least popular decision with Dem voters at every opportunity.

We can't afford to settle for someone like him again, we need someone that will actually fight like we need to.

Biden is why we have Trump.

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 8 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

100%. Trump had just launched a violent, deadly Insurrection a couple weeks before the Inauguration. Biden would have been fully legally and Constitutionally justified in stepping off the podium after his swearing in, and ordering the arrests of every MAGA in the Trump Administration as National Security Threats, which they were.

They should have been shipped off to Guantanamo Bay for extensive interrogation, where they would be cut off from the media, their lifeblood. We would have uncovered the False Electors Plot (off to Gitmo for them), and the Stolen Classified Documents Scheme. All of them should have been denied bond, and remained in their dungeons, until they could be tried for their Sedition and Treason.

But Biden decided to appoint The most feckless Republican in history to be his AG, who them dithered and slow-walked the cases, giving Trump a Two year head start in running out the clock.

MAGA survived and stole back the power, entirely because Biden, and the cowardly Democratic legislature, allowed them to.

Also, Biden should never have run for a second term. Nobody wanted it.

[-] chaogomu@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

He had initially promised a single term as well.

[-] Vegan_Joe@piefed.world 1 points 1 month ago

Well, he inadvertently kept that promise...

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 1 month ago

Brother, I'd buy you a beer if I could. It's Saturday night. Go watch your favorite comedy movie, seriously, flush your brain.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

i'm binging star trek. i had one of my favorite meals last night but like, the year hit back today right?

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 0 points 1 month ago

Star Trek has been my guilty pleasure for decades. Half my TIVO is NG, DS9, and Voyager episodes. I've seen them all a dozen times, but I still like to watch one as the last thing before I go to bed. I'm always hoping I'll stumble across one that I accidentally missed, or at least don't remember, but they're all pretty familiar at this point.

DS9 is probably the best. The final story arc in the last season is some of the most exciting TV I've ever seen.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I will always have a special for Strange New Worlds because it's the one that helped me convince my wife to give it a try. That is powerful hair.

“No ItS tHe LeFIsTs and BeRniE BrOs”

What we should campaign - pronouns. Because that’s what those 90,000 twitter bot accounts said.

Not creating laws or upholding existing ones to prevent fascism. Not arresting powerful elite pedophiles. Not taxing the corporations or the rich. Not education. Not healthcare. Not affordable housing. Not ensuring people have food. Not climate. Not fixing flint Michigan. Not giving billionaires welfare.

Fucking democrats man.

[-] danc4498@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

The democrats in power are the ones telling us progressives like Bernie and Mahmdani aren’t electable. But they’ve never had the opportunity. 2020 was a sham primary meant to prevent Bernie from winning.

[-] banshee@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

We could have had Sanders... Arghh

[-] FE80@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Obama is why we had Biden.

[-] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Just reiterating that Epstein didn't kill himself.

[-] danc4498@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I could see a scenario where he was given the opportunity to kill himself.

[-] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Honestly, it would have made a whole lot of sense for him to just kill himself. He had to have known what was in store, he wasn't stupid. If he hadn't been on suicide watch, and if the rest of the coverup wasn't so ineptly transparent, the reasonable conclusion would be that yeah he 100% did himself in. Save everyone else the trouble and himself some potential discomfort, etc. But like... nah. This has been so stupidly poorly hidden.

Nah, at this point its hard to not believe he was killed by Trump

[-] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Might not have been trump that pulled the trigger just given how comically huge the crowd of people who wanted him dead was.

[-] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

No but we know the FBI testimony about Trump forcing a child's mouth onto his cock and punching her for her laughing got diverted and not filed for nearly twice as long as it mandated to be filed, and finally got filed the day before Epstein was offed. That Trump discussed blackmail with Epstein during that time period, and that the feds shut down the investigation into Epstein's properties... Someone in the federal government with enough power to enact it had to be the culprit, and they certainly had to be doing it at his behest

[-] Warl0k3@lemmy.world -2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

graphic details about raping a child aren't exactly welcome or needed here, wtf dude.

I don't know why it has to be some vast conspiracy - a few bribes would be all anyone needed, and there's no end of people to choose from with both the money and influence to arrange it. It might not have been trump that pulled the trigger because someone got there first. We'll probably never know who it was - we just know at least one of the people that's covering it up.

Yeah, that's the best part about politics, people don't like details... Just broad speculation without witness statements? You might as well go to sleep and read an elementary school history book in a decade then. Your discussing a person convicted of crimes pertaining to sex and trafficking of children, what I said didn't even hit something rated above age 13

[-] Warl0k3@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

So for you the issue is that I'm not comfortable enough with child rape. Not that you're so desensitized you think that description is somehow PG, nor the actual argument I made... just that I didn't appreciate you included a graphic description of the internationally denounced horrific sex crimes in a discussion about a totally different meme crime.

Yeah politics is just too soft these days.

[-] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

No I didn't have any knowledge of you having an issue with information, you brought up that you had an issue with it, complained about it, and then said I had an issue with you having an issue.

I'm glad you're not comfortable with rape, no one should be. Discussion about rape is something that should be expected in a discussion board about a rapist though.

If people don't realize what these people did, they will always continue to walk free. One could say you are actually standing in the way of that witness getting justice because they came forward and put themselves out there to ensure people knew the atrocious acts that happened. And you want have people cover their ears. Making the majority unaware. Which while you were trying to have good intent, really helps protect those who performed those atrocities.

[-] Warl0k3@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Yes, the issue you brought up having a problem with was my objection to having that brought into this discussion. Your issue was I disliked having that brought up, which you characterized as being the problem with politics. I'm confused how that's relevant?

I'm not advocating for this to be hidden or obscured, I just didn't appreciate having details about graphic child rape brought up in a largely unrelated discussion. You trying to spin that into me somehow being at fault and trying to hide a victim's message because I'm uncomfortable with it is both insulting and wildly mischarcterizing what I said.

Discussion about rape is something that should be expected in a discussion board about a rapist though.

This is a discussion about a crime unrelated to donald trump raping a child - this is about epstien being killed. It's a different person and entirely different category of crime.

I just know one of those DOGE sneaky little fuckers has the digital files on one of their hard drives while they were there stealing data hand over fist under the guise of saving a few bucks.

And it’s been handed over to Musk, so he has some insurance and leverage.

[-] youcantreadthis@quokk.au 2 points 1 month ago

What was the old conservative rallying cry? 'Kill your local pedophile'?

[-] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

What documents, I wonder? It's not like there's going to be forms documenting "hey we killed this guy" that need to be shredded, we already have suspicious visitor logs and the medical records and so forth, like... what would they have wanted to shred? And why shred it there, instead of just taking it as part of the investigation and disappearing it like they did with so many other documents?

[-] zeejoo@thelemmy.club 1 points 1 month ago

My guess is JE was writing in his cell, either letters to friends for help, or to Ghislane to release blackmail, or to the media to do the same. Once he was dead they destroyed any paper in his cell and any communications he'd had with anyone.
