TSA works on behalf of the department of homeland security, but they are not law enforcement officers. They have the same legal authority as mall cops (so technically not cops).

TSA ain't so hot either, they harassed billions of people, make airports miserable, and literally caught 0 terrorists. The underwear bomber and shoe bomber both made it to their planes. Go find a real job or just volunteer at your local nonprofit
Aside from everything else, it is such a worse disaster waiting to happen to have ICE there than even just nothing. Like, all of a sudden there are just a buncha people wandering through airports with rifles and (I assume) access to secure areas? It can't be that hard to get/make a ICE POLICE tag to put on a plate carrier. Is anyone really looking that close at this point? 
ICE is notoriously lax on the identification front too. This is gonna make it even easier for bad actors to impersonate an agent and get to the secure side lol.

I flew out of Phoenix the other day and they had ICE at the checkpoint checking IDs and supervising the baggage scanners.
I didn't think beforehand what the correct response to them was, so I just avoided eye contact and did not speak to them.
