Spoke against floor crossers and saying it should trigger a by election and is now a floor crosser.
Why is she switching other than for personal enrichment? It doesn't look like she belongs in the party from a values perspective.
Not what I expected from my MP. She's an absolute nutjob.
These floor crossings are happening so often that they barely register as news. It's gonna be a big deal if/when the Liberals finally cross into majority territory, but until then, it seems like a slow, constant drip.
Let's see what happens on Monday.
Gotta wonder why so many are crossing over. Do they just want to be on the winning side, or do they hate Pierre Poilievre?
Carney's Liberals have policy positions very similar to the Conservatives. He isn't performatively woke, like Trudeau. He's happily scrapped the carbon tax, and he's stopped pushing for polluters to pay. He's even making noises about supporting Alberta's extraction industries.
I suspect all but the most rabid Conservatives would be happy if Poilievre was doing exactly what Carney is up to.
The majority is basically achieved assuming the seats that are up this month go as forecast. It will be interesting to see what happens after that. I wonder if we see more happen because Conservative MPs want to be in government and crossing is their only hope, or if we see fewer as a result of less being offered to entice floor crossers.

Yeah, just a question of how it's going to shake out in terms of what weights are given to each these by those MPs, and what enticements are on offer after the majority is achieved. I would imagine those looking for enticements and who were smart about it are the ones who already made the moves, expecting that their best opportunity would be gone once the majority is achieved. Probably also some who looked for enticements to stay too, and what Poilievre was willing to offer them would also have been a factor in the decision.
I'm curious if they'd be able to have that conversation in Poilievre's Conservative Party. From what the previous floor crossers have said, there isn't much room for disloyalty.
Maybe he offers an enticement of marginally less brow beating.
Looking at her Wikipedia page of career accomplishments I can’t really tell what prompted her to cross over. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Can we get some Liberals crossing to the NDP please? There have got to be at least two or three of them capable of understanding that it's the right thing to do for the political life of the country.
Gladu's defection brings the Liberals up to 171 seats, short of the 172 needed for a slim majority.
Not sure if it's up-to-date, but the Wikipedia page for the House of Commons says 3 seats are vacant out of 343 total, so the Liberals actually have a majority of the 340 seats that are occupied.

Sarnia and Lambton are very conservative. I wonder if some Oil & Gas announcement will come out of this deal?
Sarnia is a gas station and giant retirement home pretending to be a city. I wish I could leave.
