I credit RFK for that great innovation I call the Anti-Onion Effect. I assume any headline about him is true, no matter how outlandish.
RFK and figures like him are why I am a firm advocate that every fake news or onion type post on Hexbear be clearly labeled, because it is literally impossible to know what is real and what is parody anymore by headline alone. We truly live in a weird fucking timeline
I do wonder if there are bizzare facts like this about people involved in previous administrations and if this is just a more visible time we live in thanks to the current media cycle. Like… we’ve all heard the stories now about LBJs big schlong and how much he liked to talk about it… Nixon getting liquored up and threatening to use “the bomb” all the time… man what would Nixon be like with a twitter account.
It's more like his anti-onion effect is that onion articles will never compete with the real headlines because satire requires some level of subtlety to be funny, but truth has no such handicap.
He also once strapped a dead whales head to his car
“Every time we accelerated on the highway, whale juice would pour into the windows of the car, and it was the rankest thing on the planet,” she told the magazine.
“We all had plastic bags over our heads with mouth holes cut out, and people on the highway were giving us the finger, but that was just normal day-to-day stuff for us.”
If he weren't a Kennedy he'd have been forcibly committed 100x by now
If you or I were to drive down the interstate whale head leaking everywhere and pockets full of penises that'd be it for us
The term 'whale juice' is absolutely poetic
I was standing in front of my parked car on I-684 cutting the penis out of a road killed raccoon, thinking about how weird some of my family members have turned out to be
No fucking way is this a real quote.
Ok but have you considered they use flouridated toothpaste? These weirdos keep me up at night.
God forbid a man has hobbies
Record scratch to the
"So... you're wondering how I got in this mess"
What having your uncle and father being blasted live on TV will do to a mf
Whomst amongst us…?

animal death / bones
Unfortunately there is something about the raccoon penis bone. I think it must carry some sort of cultural machismo, because as i've mentioned before-- I have had people approach me for it because they know I collect bones. And he was in particular a predatory person.
I dont think it's "bizarre" to collect bones from animals hit by cars, generally. For me, it comes from a place of seeing the death as tragic and unfortunate, and wanting to collect the bones because I think they're beautiful. I would like to think I put a lot more respect into the practice than a follower of nergal.
The Behind the Bastards episodes on him are pretty fun
I am starting to believe the theory that RFK Jr. is actually some kind of high-profile serial killer, kinda like a modern day version of the BBG in L.A. Noire.
When I graduated high school my dad gave me a raccoon penis bone. He said it was a tradition in the South. Chat, was he fucking with me?
Hard to believe that this guy's dad was my first political hero.
Finally something I find relatable.
It made great jerky with a little bit of seasoning.
news
Welcome to c/news! We aim to foster a book-club type environment for discussion and critical analysis of the news. Our policy objectives are:
-
To learn about and discuss meaningful news, analysis and perspectives from around the world, with a focus on news outside the Anglosphere and beyond what is normally seen in corporate media (e.g. anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist, Marxist, Indigenous, LGBTQ, people of colour).
-
To encourage community members to contribute commentary and for others to thoughtfully engage with this material.
-
To support healthy and good faith discussion as comrades, sharpening our analytical skills and helping one another better understand geopolitics.
We ask community members to appreciate the uncertainty inherent in critical analysis of current events, the need to constantly learn, and take part in the community with humility. None of us are the One True Leftist, not even you, the reader.
Newcomm and Newsmega Rules:
The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.
-
Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.
-
Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.
-
Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.
-
Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.
-
Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.
-
Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.
-
American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.
-
Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.
-
AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
