I wonder whether Long Island Native groups use east-up orientation. That's true of Ojibwe and East Cree, as far as I understand, and those are both Algonquian languages, just like the Indigenous languages of Long Island — so it definitely seems possible, especially given how widespread east-up ORIENT-ation is among different cultures in general; but I cannot find any sources confirming whether this is the case for Munsee and Mohegan-Pequot. Quiripi unfortunately died with extremely little usable attestation over a century ago.
