Music publishing is slightly less corrupt than Academic publishing so this is actually progress, albeit incremental.
Eh, Spotify just reinvented the old model of not paying the musicians. But yeah, scientists have to basically pay and hunt down funding to have the pleasure of having their work benefit the publishers and not themselves. At least musicians can put up merch tables to get a little something to pay the bills. Scientists would do well with merch tables I think.
