They saw a brown guy in a press vest and couldn't help themselves. Borders be damned.

Everyone knows that "Press" looks a lot like "Hamas" to the IDF target acquisition system. You need to forgive them.

And "Lebanon" looks a lot like "Occupied Israel."

He probably voted for Hamas so it's chill

Apparently their spyware picked up the sound of a crying child so they had to strike the future terrorist.

Or maybe from "our" data that our government happily share with them

Oh good, I'm sure Biden can't want to send bombs for this as well.

"Hezbollah attacked three Israeli border sites earlier on Monday as part of its daily operations against Israel in support of the resistance in Gaza. ".

So it somehow makes sense that Isreal is unhappy.

I think these new IDF strikes are the furthest from the border in a while. Most of the skirmishes have been happening literally on the border (as you quote), not a few kilometers away from it.

[-] jupyter_rain@discuss.tchncs.de -1 points 2 years ago

Seems so. Maybe they want to set a warning or something like that...

[-] zerfuffle@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 years ago

No reason for escalation, though. You'd think the IDF would want to keep the issue on the northern border contained as they commit so many forces to Gaza.

[-] jupyter_rain@discuss.tchncs.de -1 points 2 years ago

No, absolutely not. Who knows what strategy they have.

[-] zerfuffle@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 years ago

To provoke a war on multiple fronts?

Brilliant strategy.

[-] jeena@jemmy.jeena.net 2 points 2 years ago

I don't think they would have a hard time to win the war on multiple fronts.

The IDF lost to Hezbollah in 2006 despite heavily outnumbering them.

idk we have two carrier strike groups literally right there, I'm sure they feel quite confident that if push comes to shove we'll bail em out
