Looks like you might need a third pot.

[-] Weborl@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

Yeah, next time I'll ask for an additional pot. We miscalculated the sizes this time, but it was really fun to cook.

Look delicious! I had a similar situation with a gumbo a few weeks ago.

As a professional food maker, this stressed me out.

"At least once a year I like to bring in some of my Kevin's Famous Chili. The trick is to undercook the onions. Everybody is going to get to know eachother in the pot. I'm serious about this stuff. I'm up the night before, pressing garlic, and dicing whole tomatoes. I toast my own ancho chiles. It's a recipe passed down from Malones for generations - it's probably the thing I do best."

Don't drop them lol.

Did you portion it out or freeze it after? That's a ton of chili. Looks good too.

[-] Weborl@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

We ate some of that, and the rest went into the freezer, separated in containers of one or two pounds for future chili parties.

[-] canthidium@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

I need to know more about these chili parties. For instance, when is the next one? And what should I bring?

[-] RootBeerGuy@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 year ago

Looks like not chili. That seems covered pretty well.

[-] canthidium@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Nah, there's always room for more chili ;)

[-] Kbobabob@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Portion it out into vacuum bags. Then just drop the whole thing in boiling water.

Sounds like the makings of a good backpacking meal

[-] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Until it thaws in your backpack, and due to the vacuum sealing, it's 100% full so any attempts to puncture it will result in chili hands. In the middle of the woods. The bears will have a field day with your highly aromatic fingies

"Highly aromatic fingies" is my new trail-name

[-] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Beats mine! It's taint. Just taint

[-] HubertManne@kbin.social 20 points 1 year ago

inside of you are two pots of chili.

[-] Gregorech@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

You cooked two pots of anxiety.

[-] guyrocket@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago

What do you put in your chili?

[-] MargotRobbie@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Did you cook them at 2AM and are you planning to get a book deal out of it?

[-] ElectricTickles@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 year ago
[-] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

I know right? Why only two pots? WTF OP?

[-] ElectricTickles@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 1 year ago

OP doesn’t know it takes three to tango

[-] Weborl@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

My mistake. Next time we'll use at least three.

[-] Weborl@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

We did a chili party at home and one pot wasn't enough.

[-] yoz@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago

I want some 🤤

[-] noname_yet2077@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Where's my invitation for the degustation?

[-] poopsmith@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Did you pressure cook one of them?

[-] Weborl@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

We used a pressure cooker, but we didn't put the lid on.

[-] doyoulikemyparka@feddit.uk 1 points 1 year ago

Looks great! Always looking for good chilli recipes, care to share?

[-] Weborl@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I'll do my best to translate it into English. Will reply you again with it.
