I had started to use real Scotty before remembering that TAS Scotty exists. I can't decide if it makes Homer Montgomery Scott more or less cursed though.

Remember that part in Star Trek The Motion Picture when two people got horrifically melted by a transporter accident right in front of Kirk, and then like five minutes later Kirk was giving Bones shit for not wanting to use a transporter?

I'm fully on team Bones about this. He's committed to not using them. Like when he cameos in TNG and refuses to transport, so they have to pick him up in a shuttlecraft.

I am too, I just have always thought those scenes seemed weirdly out of order.

Shouldn't you have used Tuvix?

Haha, I didn't know if Tuvix would be celebrating the transporter as a solution to everything like Scotty would.

True. Maybe Janeway? Tuvix was born on her watch and she killed him.

Basically what I'm saying is-

I think you'll find the holodeck is the cause of (and occasionally the solution to) most Trek problems.

Oh, the holodeck? Yeah we have this thing for fun, and it has only tried to murder us and take over the ship a handful of times.

Say what you want about Quark, he does have the best holosuites in the quadrant. Never tried to kill its occupants.
