LPT: Don't be a dick and ride where you're not supposed to.
The issue is that these fundamentally are dangerous for other trail users. Calling them e-bikes is extremely misleading. This guy seems relatively respectful but I’ve seen others who ride like maniacs and endanger people.
Some people call damn near anything an ebike and insist they're correct: If it doesn't have pedals, then it is 100% not an ebike.
The mental gymnastics one has to perform to convince themselves that a Surron has anything to do with bicycle is mind boggling. There absolutely is a gray zone when a pedal assist ebike turns into motorbike but Surron is way past that.
I genuinely think that some of the owners think that the issue is people dont want 2 strokes with loud pipes on nature trails making a racket and ruining the whole peaceful nature vibe and think that their E-bike is ok because its silent.
The worst part about this video is that Volted Adventures has been warned multiple times about the legality of riding his Surron on bike trails.
Screw this guy. Seize his bike and ban him from the trails permanently.
Trails are meant to be respected, and he clearly can't.
Just like ATVs on rail trails, dirtbikes destroy the trails for other users.
Probably fair. (Didn't read, just opining) I'm all for ebikes, but some approaches just enable assholes.
micromobility - Ebikes, scooters, longboards: Whatever floats your goat, this is micromobility
Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, longboards, eboards, motorcycles, skates, unicycles: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!
"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.
micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:
Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.
Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.
Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.
