One of the good thing that came out of the Ukraine War was the fact Russia and the DPRK have got really close since both got sanctioned. I guess it means Russia can do trade normally with the DPRK.
Yeah, this is huge for DPRK because US can no longer choke them economically. Russia is a commodities powerhouse, so I expect things are going to be looking up in DPRK from here on out.
The west really fucked the dog with those sanctions. They didn't force Russia to their knees, they forced Russia to build a viable alternative to western finance and trade, heralding the beginning of the end of western hegemony.
Exactly, this will be taught in history books as the pivotal event that heralded the end of western empire.
I'm almost tempted to try
From everything I've read about DPRK, it kind of sounds like a time capsule of USSR in the 70s. Definitely should be worth visiting.
That is incredible. It makes me want to visit the DPRK one day even more.
Also holy shit lmao google is wild again
spojler
lol
I've read about visiting the DPRK; apparently they won't stamp your passport because they know it'll cause you problems when you leave (back to the states), and for non-Americans, they don't get their passports stamped so they can visit the US without issues; at least I think this was the case, as I'm sure I read about that on a website dedicated to arranging tourist visits to the DPRK.
Wait, those stamps actually effect travel? I thought they were like cute little “hey, you made it!” markers. Like a collection or something, I didn’t think you’d be penalized for having a stamp from a “bad” country…
you’d be penalized for having a stamp from a “bad” country
AFAIK certain countries, like Indonesia, raise an issue if you have Israel stamp. It should be expected that a place so hellbent on everyone following their arbitrary rules as USA would also cause issues if you have a stamp from "bad country"
As soon as I finally move to Russia and settle down, I'm planning on taking the trip there with my SO. It's going to be great.
uncritical support for the DPRK in its heroic struggle to liberate occupied Korea from the genocidal American empire
I'd move there at this point if they don't have covid
If covid is the sole reason, what's stopping you from heading now? But seriously now- particularly if you live in the US.
I'm skeeved out by the idea of traveling on an airplane full of covid
