The scale of the rigging is massive.

Before the election, PTI was banned from participating. It's leader, Imran Khan was jailed. Many of it's politicians were tortured into dropping out. Many party cadre too have been beaten and killed.

During the election, internet had been shut down. Despite it all PTI-affiliated "independent" candidates were winning anywhere from half to two-thirds of all seats. And because it was so unexpected, the news channels were showing the vote counting and results live on air for many hours. Until of course they stopped. When they resumed, the ones who were supposed to win started winning again in many areas.

Right now PTI-affiliated independents are still the ones with the most seats but are nowhere close to a majority. The army rigged enough votes to make the other two parties able to create a weak coalition government, which is the best government for the army.

On the other hand, the whole affair has laid bare the true face of the army for young Pakistanis. Maybe something can happen from that.

Edit: r/Pakistan collecting evidence of election rigging

This is the revolutionary electoralism liberals dream about but they won't sanction the corrupt army generals or PPP/ PMLN politicians. Everything they profess to believe is a lie.

Extra extra: Massive election rigging in Pakistan. US sanctions Venezuela.

Edit: IK and the PTI is so popular that they won despite the massive election rigging.

What's wrong with the PPP, they seem to have similar socdem ideology?

[-] supersolid_snake@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 9 months ago

They claim to have socdem/ socialist ideology but they are literally feudal style landlords. PPP "leftists" make western leftists look like Che Guevara.

[-] SadArtemis@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 9 months ago

Also, any "leftists" willing to bend over for Uncle Sam and the causes of imperialism are automatically invalid in my books. I'll take Iran, Russia, or even what is increasingly an independent Saudi Arabia over that sort of "ally."

Didn't they get coup'd by U.S-allied powers twice, first, Zulfikar et second, Benazir?

How are they aligned?

[-] deathtoreddit@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 9 months ago

What feudal landlords, specifically? Name one supporter who actually is a feudal landlord...

he rigged the elections in his cell not mad

[-] DankZedong@lemmygrad.ml 34 points 9 months ago

I've seen multiple articles already saying the result is rigged etc. Western copium being distributed en masse right now.

[-] Shrike502@lemmygrad.ml 34 points 9 months ago

It's rigged when it's a candidate USA rulers don't like. It's "will of the people, deal with it" when it's someone they do like.

Despite it still being bs bourgeois elections
