These traditionalists still cling to the notion of a single income family wage despite capitalism having done away with that arrangement nearly half a century ago. They are so unaware of their own contradictions.

Also, it's nauseating how HR/resume mindset has mutated all social relations in the last 20 years. I can only imagine there must be preschools that require the toddlers to show 10 years experience at the interview.

Also completely tie your material well-being to one guy you have deliberately not picked based on character, fucking marry that guy, hope that he makes enough money to support a family on his own in this economy, and be prepared to lack a decade or two of working experience when you inevitably get divorced from that asshole and are stuck with his kids while he tries everything he can to dodge alimony payments. If you at least learned anything that allows you to hold down a job in the first place, god forbid if you went all in on this shit and dropped out because your plan was to get pregnant from him as soon as possible.

Liberal feminism's approach of "just get a career and kids in a capitalist hellscape without proper child day care and abhorrent working conditions" was and is and will always be awful, but at least it's miles better than this tradwife death trap.

Fucking good luck. When i was a man I was a provider like this for a year and it was absolutely brain melting. I slowly lost money even though I make good money, because rent was so damn high and food and e erythjng was so expensive. I could not do it on my own. How about fucking landlords stop stealing all our money then we can talk about this being a possibility

That being said if rent was just lower then I could have afforded it. Rent just absolutely destroyed me

If I didn't have to put half my income toward rent I would have probably settled down with a family by now even despite being trans. It's painfully thinking what I could have done if I hadn't had to give various landlords close to $200,000 through my adult life (I'm not even old).

It's not much better mortgaging. We bought our first home 18 years ago with a 20% down payment, and we currently own... 42% of it. The amount we've paid already exceeds the full price of the home. By a lot.
