There are dozens of miles of tunnels beneath las vegas referred to as the "homeless tunnels."

Literally an undercity of people enslaved and tortured and preyed upon by the lovecraftian horror that is capital, all so this thing can exist looming above the city like a monument to some eldritch god, a spherical obolisk that almost defies perception.
