Me when a DM awarded the party more points for protecting valuable property versus literally saving people's lives (which was often not rewarded at all)
I mean that's just "realism" isn't it?
I'm sure it doesn't mean anything
Real "one gold = one xp" hours
I find DMs tend to skew more reactionary than players for whatever reason

Not to mention that DMs probably have more time/less stress (due to being more financially privileged) to prepare sessions compared to players.
Except for Brennan Lee Mulligan from dropout. Dude seems way more radical and vocal about it than the people he plays with.

This is the perfect clip of Brennan making some very basic left critiques of policing and (most of) the rest of the table liberal finger-wagging him about it.
The anarcho socialist halfling with a lit molotov in his mailbag, ready to toss at cops will never not be hilarious to me.
This clip rules lol

I'd be highly tempted to run a campaign like this and see if my players have any chance of being like "Are we the baddies?"
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sometimes yes but the campaign continues unabated. Heavily depends on player.
My players know me too well
Friend ran “Out Of The Abyss” for us a few years ago and when we got to Blingdenstone the number of people in our group ready to gleefully genocide the wererats was incredibly disturbing…
Guy who restarts a dnd campaign over and over again until they find players who build death camps.
