The way his hat fell off makes this look like a medical emergency.

Probably if he's laying over a row of crops instead of deliberately orienting himself

[-] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 1 year ago

I think he’s laying over a row of crops in the photo.

My dad told me a story once.

When he was young (1950's), he and his dad were spraying a field in the Mississippi Delta. He decided to get off the tractor to walk around and try to catch some toads. He eventually got tired and found some flowers, picked them and laid down to take a nap holding the flowers over his belly. At the end of the day his dad started looking for him. After a while his dad found him, laying in the field with flowers over his belly. He thought he was dead.

The mole people had a funeral for him?

[-] WIIHAPPYFEW@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

This guy's dad was Mark Twain's inspiration!

[-] alrighthosanna@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

Why does she write like that

[-] Custoslibera@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Her grandfather sleeps in a fucking field despite likely owning a bed.

I’m pretty sure there is a connection.

[-] JazzAlien@lemm.ee 14 points 1 year ago

That's how you get an asymmetrical sunburn.

[-] agent_flounder@lemmy.one 3 points 1 year ago

That's why you lay on the other side the next day

[-] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 12 points 1 year ago

Why did they walk to the middle of the field? Are they checking the onions?

[-] Facelikeapotato@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 year ago

He wants to be one with the onions. One-ions?

Grade Point Average. Mine was a 3.9 in high school and a 4.0 in college. I'm so much smarter than most people on this site. 😎

[-] Drusas@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago

Thank you! There was a time when I knew this, but I forgot.

I graduated high school in 2003. That initialism has fallen out of my vocabulary.

[-] Sharpiemarker@feddit.de 3 points 1 year ago

Eh, I graduated in 2006 and it's still in my vernacular.

[-] KIM_JONG_JUICEBOX@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

I graduated in 1998 and it’s in my vermicelli.

[-] Sharpiemarker@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Waiter there some vernacular in my vermicelli

[-] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Out ~~standing~~ in his field.

[-] Facelikeapotato@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 year ago

You might say he's... an outlier. (Puts on sunglasses)

Maybe I don't understand onion farming, but don't you dig them up, rather than cutting the green part and letting the rest go brown?

[-] Facelikeapotato@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 year ago

I think you let the tops brown so the onions can dry out a little before you dig them up, but I'm no onionologist.

[-] KIM_JONG_JUICEBOX@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

This guy maybe onions.
