I'm in my early/mid forties and still feel lost occasionally.

I think it's a thing about being an adult. It's not to be feared but embraced. Besides, it means you are thinking and not just doing.

The wilderness gives you time to find your own direction.

Still, it is a little disquieting. You'll make it through, I promise, but you'll end up back there too.

Congratulations on finishing your bachelor. Do you already have a job lined up?

It's okay to feel lost, most of us do at times. It comes and go.

[-] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

If it makes you feel any better I grew up in and went to school in the US and I felt lost when I graduated.

[-] Sixth0795@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago

My final parent passed away recently, and after a chain reaction of events, my older sisters have begun to ghost me, and anyone else I might care about is hundreds of miles away. I feel so aimless and without any sense of autopilot/instinct that I feel like the wind could drift me anywhere.

[-] Sixth0795@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

Hey you know it's gonna be alright

Maybe take a trip

And sorry for your loss

[-] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Thanks. I wish it seemed like it will be, certainly at least one of my circumstances would have to miraculously change.

[-] Sixth0795@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

It might change miraculously but even if it doesn't it will change it slowly

Hang in there bro

Is that Thailand? If I had to be in the third world, I think that's where I'd pick.

I'm well out of your age bracket, so I don't know that my current ennui is comparable to the rudderless feelings of that age. I remember it, but I just kinda bumble-fucked my way through it. I believe things tend to work out and eventually you'll find the place life is preparing you for.

[-] MagicShel@programming.dev 2 points 1 year ago

Haven't been. I'd like to see it some day.

[-] Sixth0795@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 year ago

Just an advice don't until you wanna see abject poverty

[-] MagicShel@programming.dev 2 points 1 year ago

Good luck, my friend. You will find a path.

[-] Sixth0795@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

Thanks a lot

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

It's so bad right now.

I hope things improve for you.

[-] Sixth0795@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

Thanks a lot man

[-] Varyk@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

What are you confused about?

Are you traveling?

Traveling usually helps me find myself.

[-] Sixth0795@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

Collages

I tried traveling just made me more anxious

[-] Varyk@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

Traveling isn't for everybody. That's fine.

You're confused about which college to go to?

[-] Sixth0795@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

More like how

education in states is really expensive

[-] Varyk@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

And you don't want to go to any international institutions, you definitely want to study at a college within the United States?

If so, I did a lot of college prep for students, and as far as I'm aware, there is very little difference in the quality of education itself depending on location.

You can go to a less expensive University for higher education without missing out on the actual quality of education.

The networking or prestige may not be the same at ever university, but that hardly affects your textbooks, the labs, the professors or the academic outcome of your education.

If you're certain which field of study you find rewarding and you're sure that studying is what you want to do with your life in the near future, but money is a primary concern, then choose the least expensive route to pursue your studies.

Education in that specific country is expensive, but if you are certain that's where you want to study, then the only thing left is to do it.
