That's not the point.

They only need to know, what they need to do to get as many eyeballs as possible for as long as possible on their platform.

And since most people only want shallow entertainment most of the time (and neither of us should exclude themselves from that), it's relatively easy to push enough people onto your platforms if you're reading to push them.
