Image is of a colectivo: an armed group, usually operating in impoverished areas, which act to support and defend the socialist government of Venezuela. They are often derided as vigilante terrorist groups which prop up the government, because cops are only bad when they are socialist and not murdering minorities, I suppose.

Maduro's party, the PSUV, has won the election after a staggering amount of propaganda by the opposition, who said their polls suggested they were going to win and that Maduro's loss was inevitable. The reaction across Latin America is what one would expect. Left-leaning leaders are generally respecting the results and congratulating Maduro, while those on the right and/or are US puppets (such as in semirecently-couped Peru) are calling for recounts, or even that the election was illegitimate. The US itself is also unhappy about the results. We shall soon see if their unhappiness boils over into yet another coup attempt.

Personally, I think they should have ran Guaido again.

cock Yeah fuck the communist party of venezuela I'm convinced there's something very very wrong with its central committee.

So in Portugal a journalist from "Radio Observador", the radio branch of the online right wing publication Observador, an outlet known for never having turned a profit but still getting funding due to its role in promoting right wing ideas in the country's discourse, said that someone from the PCV left THEM OF ALL PEOPLE a note saying, and they quote, "the portuguese communist party are our brothers, but you think you know venezuela better than us?", due to the party having congratulated maduro instead of appealing for intervention.

The journalist could be speaking figuratively or just lying, but then it would be pretty weird to put that note part in quotes making it look like a citation.

Also ironic that this outlet, who never invites the communist party to anything finally found space in its website for communist ideas, they just had to be ideas that align with impearealism.

In fact a whole lot of people from the far-left especially and to the far-right, who don't give a flying fuck about the IMCWP communist parties like the PCV (and just call them stalinists or whatever) suddently love this party and use it to legitimate their own pro-interference position. Really shows how fucked of a statement the PCV put out if ANYONE can quote it to be like "see see, we should keep sanctioning this country".

Pro-coup protesters in Venezuela have torn down the statue of the historic Indigenous Chief Coromoto and shouted “long live Christ!” as they dragged it through the streets. Racism has long been a feature of right-wing mobilizations in the country.

The Venezuelan right wing’s attack on an Indigenous statue — a “spiritual symbol of Chavismo” — shows exactly what kind of violent racism US political elites and billionaires like Elon Musk support. This isn’t about an election. This is about bringing back the old colonial order.

What will the liberal Venezuelans living in the US, who are scared of Project 2025, say about this?

Meanwhile Maduro after meeting with LGBQ+ organizations:

In November 2017, President Nicolás Maduro expressed his personal support for same-sex marriage, and said that the Constituent Assembly would agree to discuss legalising same-sex marriage.

In September 2018, There were discussions to allow same-sex marriage under the new Constitution of Venezuela, and that there was majority support in the Assembly. Discussion on the new Constitution was expected to begin at the end of 2018 or early 2019,[but has been postponed since then due to the Guaidó's crisis.

I have not seen major protests today in Venezuela, mostly some Chavista demonstrations, but they were peaceful. It seems that the Bolivarian Police and Militia have brought the situation under control before more damage could be done. Also SEBIN (Venezuela's FBI) has been tracking and arresting those spreading fake news and promoting terrorist attacks through social networks.

Venezuelan opposition candidates recognize CNE results - Telesur Spanish (Translated)

Article

Rausseo said that he accepts the “CNE's ruling and what corresponds is to turn the page of the election and start writing the new chapter”.

Once the Venezuelan presidential elections, which will mark the next six years of government and which after an arduous audit, the Venezuelan National Electoral Council (CNE) gave the victory to President Nicolás Maduro Moros, began the pronouncements of opposition sectors.

Among the first responses were the declarations of presidential candidate Benjamín Rausseo, who exercised his right to vote in peace and celebrated the democratic celebration that took place on Venezuelan soil.

The candidate congratulated the Venezuelan people for their massive participation and called for the conciliation of the citizens to peace, accepting the defeat in this electoral process in order not to incite confrontation among compatriots.

In his message, the now former presidential candidate assured to accept the “CNE's ruling and what corresponds is to turn the page of the election and start writing a new chapter”, he said.

Rausseo congratulated Nicolás Maduro for his victory and committed himself to promote peace in Venezuela to close his electoral participation with his willingness to “turn the page”.

Presidential candidate José Brito Rodríguez, of Primero Venezuela, Primero Justicia, Unidad Visión Venezuela and Venezuela Unidad, issued a video recording in which he acknowledged the trend announced by the first bulletin of the CNE, which gave the victory to ruler Nicolás Maduro.

Brito, in his message, made a call for reconciliation, calm, peace and harmony. “Today's Venezuela demands reconciliation, reunion, union among Venezuelans and a great pact for Venezuela”, he said.

Unitary Platform “fulfills its agenda”.

On the other side of the sidewalk, right-wing presidential candidate Edmundo González, accompanied by María Corina Machado, addressed the nation after the pronouncement of President-elect Nicolás Maduro, who celebrated his victory in Caracas.

In this case, being the most radical opposition in their statements, they rejected the electoral victory of the Gran Polo Patriotico. In the same criteria, Machado and Gonzalez said that in the next days they would communicate with their supporters to “defend the vote”.

Nicolás Maduro warned about plans of the right wing

Recently, President Nicolás Maduro denounced that groups of the ultra-right are orchestrating actions to prevent the victory of the Gran Polo Patriótico Simón Bolívar in the upcoming presidential elections.

These statements were ratified after the electoral triumph celebrated in Miraflores, Caracas, before his followers, where he warned that the “right wing will seek to generate a climate of violence”.

With this warning, Maduro said that the right wing will manipulate the population through the media in the next few days to generate a matrix of opinion in order to generate conflict among the Venezuelan people.

These actions would violate the agreement signed by eight of the ten candidates before the CNE, where they committed to recognize the electoral results.

The remaining opposition candidates have not made any statement, as of the publication of this informative guideline.

Seems like South Africa also recognized Maduro's election.

Election observers, including members of the African National Congress (ANC), South African Communist Party (SACP) and the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu), have stated their unreserved confidence in the legitimacy of Venezuela’s presidential election.

Incumbent, President Nicolas Maduro, and his nearest challenger Edmundo Gonzalez both claimed victory once the polls closed on Sunday, with Maduro declared the winner by Monday morning with 51% of the vote.

“Voting has been free, fair and transparent. Claims or allegations of fraud have been found to be baseless and mischievous with Venezuela’s electoral system considered one of the best in the world,” said a joint statement issued by the observers. The South Africans present include Cosatu General Secretary Solly Phetoe, ANC NEC member Obed Bapela and SACP Deputy General Secretary Madala Masuku.

Lula da Silva talks about the Venezuela Situation.

"I think it was a normal and free process. But they have to solve the dispute. If the opposition has a problem, they should go to the judicial system and follow the correct procedures to file a complaint. They have that right. Now, the government also has the right to demonstrate that it has won, freely and cleanly.”

"We will wait for the electoral process to be published, and we will respond in the right way when it is published.”

Very similar to AMLO's speech. I believe Petro will do the same soon. I think the Venezuela opposition will burn all the good will they have with some leftist and latino liberals. I have been checking twitter and the liberals were first 100% with Gonzalez, calling Maduro a dictator.

Then the Venezuela Opposition begun literally doing the same as Bolsonaro and Trump did. And the Liberals begun then both siding the two. It also didn't help the opposition keeps changing the numbers from 80% to 75% to 70% to 73% to 69% and finally recently: 68%. I doubt this will affect Petro and Lula's popularity too much. Can't say the same for Boric.

What really made the liberals angry at Gonzalez and Machado, were they posting numbers on a site that does not work, changing the numbers all the time, and self-proclaiming themselves as an interim government.

Lula criticizes the press for treating the crisis in Venezuela “like the 3rd World War”

In an interview, Lula spoke for the first time about the elections in Venezuela and the challenge to Maduro's victory

“The statement from the Workers' Party praises the Venezuelan people for the peaceful elections that took place. At the same time, it recognizes that the electoral court has already recognized [Nicolás] Maduro as victorious. But the opposition hasn't yet. So, there is a process. There's nothing serious, there's nothing scary. I see the Brazilian press treating it as if it were the Third World War, but there is nothing unusual”

In the interview, Lula also stated that, if the voting minutes are published, the government has an “obligation to recognize” the result of the election that gave victory to Nicolás Maduro.

The US Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt unexpectedly left the Persian Gulf and arrived in the Strait of Hormuz. Another “bell” of an imminent strike from Iran and the Pentagon’s readiness to intercept Iranian UAVs and missiles.

US and Israeli intelligence agencies say they expect a retaliatory strike from Iran tomorrow. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will lead the deployment of additional US troops to the Middle East to bolster Israel's defenses to “respond to the evolving crisis,” the Pentagon said.

They added that the deployment of additional military forces will mean an increase in the number of personnel, but a decision on the exact size of the contingent and specific units has not yet been made.

Joe Biden spoke with Lula da Silva today:

"Today, I spoke with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues, including the emerging political situation in Venezuela following their presidential election. We agree on the need for an immediate release of full, transparent, and detailed voting data at the polling station level by the Venezuelan electoral authorities. And we pledged to remain in close coordination on the issue."

What the Brazilian Goverment said about this:

Huge Letter

"President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva received a phone call from US President Joe Biden on Tuesday, July 30, to discuss bilateral and multilateral issues and the situation in Venezuela. The conversation lasted around half an hour. Biden thanked them for their joint work on the Partnership for Workers' Rights and the energy transition."

"Biden confirmed his presence at the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro in November and wished the Brazilian presidency success at the head of the group. "

"Regarding Venezuela, Lula noted that he has been constantly monitoring the electoral process through his Special Advisor, Celso Amorim, who was sent to Caracas. He reported that Amorim had met with Nicolás Maduro and Edmundo González Urrutia and reiterated Brazil's position of continuing to work for the normalization of the political process in the neighbouring country, which will have positive effects for the whole region. Lula reiterated that the publication of the electoral records from last Sunday's elections is essential. Biden agreed with the importance of publishing the minutes."

"President Biden mentioned that the economies of both countries are doing well and that the partnership between Brazil and the US should continue to grow."

"Lula invited Biden to take part in a meeting of democratic countries against extremism, to be held next September in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly."

"At the end of the call, the Brazilian president congratulated Biden on his “magnanimous” decision on the US electoral process and wished the country's democracy success in the presidential elections in November."

TLDR; Lula said that he knows what is going in Venezuela and is not alarmed by anything (No fraud). He is doing what AMLO and Petro are also doing, waiting to declare that Maduro was reelected.

Maduro proclaims Gonzalez: "Guaido 2.0"

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro gave a broadcast this afternoon. Stated that authorities had dismantled a criminal group with ties to the far-right leadership and called opposition candidate Edmundo González "Guaidó 2.0"

With torrential rains falling in central Caracas, a first, soaked march arrives at Miraflores Palace. Chavismo is mobilizing in defense of the government and opposing fascism

Larger and larger crowds, including the ever present motorcyclist contingent, continue to gather in the vicinities of the presidential palace. A show of force from Chavismo

Jorge Rodríguez Denounces Falsity of Alleged Acts Presented by the Venezuelan Opposition (PSUV proof that the results the Opposition posts are fake)

Article

It happened in the context of the complaint made by President Nicolás Maduro about the inattendance of the right-wing candidate to the TSE.

The head of the «Venezuela Nuestra» Campaign Command and President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, denounced on Friday the falsity of the alleged minutes presented by the opposition on a website that aims to replace the National Electoral Council.

Rodríguez presented evidence about the plans of the right in the electoral run-up, which included the announcement not to recognize the results of the CNE, but only those of the «acts» that would emanate from the «counting» of your campaign. They have been saying this since 18 July, ten days before the elections.

The president of the National Assembly then explained that his campaign command had managed to extract information from the website presented by the opposition.

In the same vein, he gave an account of the technical details of the acquisition of the domain even before the elections as an expression of the premeditation with which this case was handled.

Rodríguez explained that the website only contains 9468 alleged minutes of the more than 36,000 tables installed on Sunday, which refutes the statements that they had «more than 70 percent» The number has also changed.

He then presented evidence of the papers which the opposition has been passing as records, in which he listed as fundamental falsehoods:

  • the presentation of «zero minutes», which is printed at the beginning of the vote, as if they were final minutes,
  • the submission of «minutes» in which the signatures of the table operators, or witnesses, including witnesses of the PSUV, are missing, despite having this party witnesses at all tables,
  • the use of identity cards for deceased persons.

He also presented the mathematical inconsistencies in the results submitted by the opposition, which gives for all states results of 70 percent for Edmudo González and 30 percent for Nicolás Maduro. Jorge Rodríguez and Nicolás Maduro insisted that the presentation of these alleged acts would constitute a crime.

Bolsonaro once attempted to create his own political party and also used the ID of dead people.

Not sure if this has been posted, but "after the Gaza War" plans that US, Israel, and Gulf Arab states agreed on includes installing CIA asset Mohammed Dahlan into power. They also want him replacing Mahmoud Abbas.

I wonder if this is why Turkey is getting into beef with Israel now, because this guy was also behind the Gulen coup attempt. Either way I think the least they can do is send some Bayraktars the Lebanese way.

As for China @shipwreck@hexbear.net

China for the last 20 years at least, has by far the most competent political leadership on the planet.

You think they don't know what's going on?

China has been balancing its' trade towards more domestic consumption since the later Hu Jintao period.

But they are not naive, they know that an economy heavily based on domestic consumption implies a bunch of things.

It implies running on deficits. It implies opening up capital flow. It implies losing control over the yuan. It implies giving the power to the financiers.

They are not gonna do that, despite what liberal academics inside China say. They are not gonna turn China into USA.

Instead the smartest politicians on the planet, they are gonna do the smart thing.

They are gonna turn that energy deficit into energy surplus, they are gonna invest in advance agriculture so they are not dependent to anyone for food, they are gonna turn the 12% gross margin into 20-25%+, they are gonna use that surplus value to build more sustainable infrastructure and improve steadily the QoL of their citizens without sacrificing their competitive edge.

They gonna do all this until they develop their productive force so far that they can out-compete any of the regressive capitalist countries while at the same time provide better standard of living for their people. Then the realm of freedom (as Marx put it) is finally on the horizon. Then we win.

The fake news on Venezuela is hilariously ridiculous.

This is Colombia's former vice president and foreign minister, in the previous far-right regime of Iván Duque.

Her supposed "proof" that the Venezuelan opposition won the election is a WhatsApp message with made-up data 😂

The fascists can't keep their vote total straight. It's 80% here, 69% there, etc... They might as well say that they won all the votes.
