Oh no! Is it because the recent court has allowed mass money into politics? Unconstitutionally made bush president? Overturned rvW? Outlawed homosexuality? Civil servants can unilaterally seize your property?

Anyone undecided, please understand that you aren't "making a choice", the US SCOTUS has illegally ruled that your constitutional rights are not your rights, full stop.

Write to your legislators and demand your constitutional rights!

It's a shockingly small amount of people actually writing into their lawmakers that can change their vote on a law, make the effort.

They outlawed homosexuality?!

[-] finley@lemm.ee 57 points 3 months ago

They don’t care. They’re too busy on their billionaire funded bribery vacations.

Only "near" historic low?

Since we already have at least two overtly corrupt justices whose entire defense consists essentially of "nobody has the authority to do anything about it so fuck you," and the highlights of their last session include ruling that bribery is entirely legal just so long as the check is postdated and that presidents are completely and totally immune from even being investigated over anything that is in any way connected to anything that might by any stretch of the most fevered imagination be considered an "official act " I have to wonder what it will take to actually hit rock bottom.

I have no doubt that, since they have no integrity, no ethics and no regard for either law or the well-being of the country, we'll see.

Only “near” historic low?

According to the article:

The new Gallup poll found 43 percent of Americans approve of how the nation’s highest court is performing its job

The approval rating is just shy of the record-low recorded in September 2021, when 40 percent said they approved.

Ah. So the disclosure of Thomas' gifts, the bribery, and the Presidents-are-Kings thing have started to win back public opinion. god help the rest of us.

Lol, but I'll say it's the opposite: when the majority of the Court was progressive, a high percentage of republicans where unfavorable, however recently they changed their mind because the Court's doing exactly what they want.

So would like to see democrat support for it exclusively.

[-] ASDraptor@lemmy.autism.place 20 points 3 months ago

You mean it's not yet at its historical low?

[-] aramis87@fedia.io 16 points 3 months ago

Historical low was shortly after they repealed RvW.

There's a large fundamentalist Christian population in the United States. Why wouldn't they approve?

[-] Spitzspot@lemmings.world 3 points 3 months ago

Playing devil's advocate here, "The Supreme Court has unanimously dismissed a case that would have limited access to mifepristone, one of the two drugs used in a medication abortion."

[-] Nougat@fedia.io 14 points 3 months ago

I imagine that's because most people realize how shit they are, and the remainder are disappointed that they haven't put a literal crown on "he who shall not be named."
