The Sand People are easily startled, but they will soon be back, and in greater numbers.

oh no you can’t slink away that easy.

[-] Drunemeton@lemmy.world 124 points 2 years ago

Fall Guy. Now they can point at him as the entire problem, then say he’s not there anymore (implying that 2025 went away…).

[-] GBU_28@lemm.ee 18 points 2 years ago

He's probably just moving to a new group/position/financial backer.

[-] nia_the_cat@lemmy.world 99 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I wonder if they're just stepping down to give the appearance that Project 2025's ideas are dead to try to make Trump appear as less extremist to undecided voters.

[-] demizerone@lemmy.world 20 points 2 years ago

They are slithering back into their holes. Eventually some billionaire will entice them the reemerge with some funding.

[-] nomous@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

They aren't going anywhere, they're just pretending they're slithering away.

[-] HelixDab2@lemm.ee 6 points 2 years ago

Yes. That's literally all it it. It's all still on the table, they're just trying to make it look like it isn't.

Every single author should be outed and shunned in work and life.

One organization's trash is another organization's trash. Gotta keep the trash employed.

[-] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Only for minor positions - like getting to decide what most of the country will or will not see in their news feeds.

[-] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 48 points 2 years ago

This is what happens when you speak out loud what Trump really has planned for us.

This is all just prep for the debate. Trump can now say he disavows project 2025. In reality it changes nothing. The heritage foundation will try to accomplish its goals one way or another.

[-] exanime@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago

Trump can now say he disavows project 2025

Not with Just Dumb Vance attached to the ticket...

Now, in reality, Trump can say whatever he wants and his idiot cultist would swallow it all anyway so it makes no difference

[-] Catma@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

He disavows it but has ability to get the head of the project to step down. Yea, that makes total sense.

[-] Clinicallydepressedpoochie@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I'm not saying it's an effective strategy but I do know conservatives like my dad will use this to be in total denial about their intent.

If you want to know my rebuttal, it will be, "if trump has no connection to project 2025 he should drop that ghoul Stephen Miller, a major contributor to project 2025. He wont."

[-] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago

The rats are already jumping ship.

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 years ago

Nah this is 100% optics.

These people are so deluded that they didn't realize just how unpopular this shit is. Republicans have been coasting for decades by not saying the quiet bit out loud. They've deluded themselves into believing that the majority of their voters actually agree with their insane, horrifying beliefs and plans (or, at the very least, not openly.

They have benefited so long by maintaining a level of plausible deniability that allows them to pretend that they don't actually want this country to be a Christian theocratic fascist nation, they just want to lower your taxes and want smaller government. Really.

It's interesting to see that this where the line is... Or maybe it's just that people finally started paying attention?

[-] nifty@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

They fell for their own “silent majority” lie

[-] DrSleepless@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago

Dude, why the long face?

[-] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Crisis averted, now get back to work. /s

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

So just back to some other heritage society sub org or affiliated org to continue doing the exact same work?

[-] xc2215x@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Good for the Democrats.
