Maybe for some, writing is a pleasant pastime. Maybe they even write well.

But my best work has always been a painful process. I believe, unwillingly and deep down, that creativity without pain is emptier somehow.

I hate writing organically. It isn't natural to me, I respond better with prompts so I usually work towards the conclusion in my brain and start at the end and make lots of outlines. It is horrible for STEM. FML.

And the only writing you do is just edits to that one page, waffling over word usage, grammar choices, or punctuation. The rest of the time you're staring at the blinking cursor like gazing into the void.
