I love this guy. A heaping helping of ridicule is exactly what House Republicans need and deserve.
Exactly. I hope they do it and see that nobody actually cares because every hates Biden. The majority of people just hate the GOP drastically more.
Their confusion will be delicious. We already see them not get it when they are confounded that they don't see Biden flags, Biden caravans, or rallies. I love Fetterman's response cause it's such a good reflection of how most people feel.
This isn't because "everyone hates Biden", it's just because they have cero evidence and that's on them (GOP) and them alone. Biden has been a great president for everything he has been able to do so far. His age isn't a reason to hate him.
I'd rep him in Germany if his merch store sent overseas.
I’d buy a dark Brandon shirt if they shipped here
What? Democrats (our other conservative party) and progressives do not "rep" anyone. We're done with this cult nonsense.
AOC and Bernie Sanders who?
We already see them not get it when they are confounded that they don’t see Biden flags, Biden caravans, or rallies.
Which just highlights that US politics today is Cultists vs. Ordinary Folks.
I don't want politicians who try to make me swoon, chant, march, brawl, or holler. I want politicians who sit down and do their goddamn job like responsible grown-ups. Fix the infrastructure. Uphold the treaties. Prosecute the criminals. Fill the appointed offices. Get justice done. Regulate the industries. Protect the workers.
"Make Politics Boring Again." What it is to be American should not be about politics, government, or culture war. We have a pretty awesome thing going on in this country, and all the best parts of it have nothing to do with the presidency.
MPBA is just such an awkward arcronym.
MPBA sounds like a weird post-war Franco-Italian trade agreement.
Where does this "everyone hates Biden" come from? I'm truly curious what thought process is there. Is he my favorite president? No. Do I hate him? Also no.
Probably would have been able to phrase it as "nobody loves him". Or maybe "everyone has critisms of Biden". I guess it being harder to properly characterize what normal political support looks like since the emergence of trump 7 years ago is just another sign of how shit things have gone
The appropriate phrase, by contrast to Trump and his followers, is "nobody worships Biden". Many of us appreciate what he's accomplished, and like him as President and as a person, but we don't have a cult-like attitude of unconditional admiration and worship of the guy like MAGA do with Trump.
Some people think Biden's great, some people think he's okay, others think less of him. But you're right in that no matter their opinion of Biden, most people think far, far less of Trump and his disciples.
McCarthy keeps picking the decisions that placate the far right at the cost of their national prospects. A plurality believed that Republicans are to blame for the debt ceiling crisis earlier this year, when they were polled after the fact.
If Republicans don't pass a bipartisan budget from the Senate in the House because they're too busy trying to impeach Biden with no evidence, and the government shuts down... well. It won't be on all Republicans because of the Senate Bill, but it will all fall on McCarthy's head. He can't blame anyone else for House Republicans taking the beating, and having their prospects worsen in 2024 because of it.
And the icing on the cake, they might not even have unanimity within their caucus. Can you imagine if the impeachment moves forward to a vote because the far right keeps pushing for it, and the vote fails because vulnerable Republicans don't want to throw their seats away?
I should stock up on some popcorn.
John Fetterman has to be the first sitting US Senator to publicly use the term "circle jerk".
On the 6th...
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) says Republicans will pay a price in the next elections if they try to impeach President Biden, the HuffPost reports.
Said Fetterman: “Go ahead. Do it, I dare you. If you can find the votes, go ahead, because you’re going to lose. It’s a loser.”
He added: “It would just be like a big circle jerk on the fringe right. Sometimes you just gotta call their bullshit. If they’re going to threaten, then let’s see it.”
John Fetterman has to be the first sitting US Senator to publicly use the term “circle jerk”.
LBJ was in the Senate once and he was a lewd crude dude.
He may not have used the term in the senate, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he committed the act.
“Johnson found it difficult to sustain his rationality in dealing with war critics. During a private conversation with some reporters who pressed him to explain why we were in Vietnam, Johnson lost his patience. According to Arthur Goldberg, LBJ unzipped his fly, drew out his substantial organ and declared, ‘This is why!’”
Boy, he and Kennedy were really a pair, huh
McCarthy: “I do not make this decision lightly. And regardless of your party, or who you voted for, these facts should concern all Americans,” McCarthy said Tuesday.
Everyone: What facts?
McCarthy: "We will reveal those next week. Maybe in a couple of weeks. But they exist, believe me."
"I have it on good authority that the facts will come out in the next two weeks, and further that they will be the most bigly beautiful facts ever, everyone is saying so."
"You can walk up to a fact and grab it by the factussy, they just let you do it."
Is this before or after Infrastructure Week?
Let's Sharpie it in for after
I already used up the Sharpie to show the true direction of a hurricane.
No it’s fine we investigated using a nuke on it so it would see the headlines and get scared off, you can have another one-use sharpie as reimbursement.
Was the invisible F-35s used to investigate with the nuke?
Oh shit just in time for infrastructure week.
We need more actual human beings like John Fetterman in office
As Lt. Gov he put a pride flag and a weed flag hanging on the balcony outside his office window, which is right at the front of the PA Capitol. When Republicans passed legislation forbidding any flags except the state and US flags flying over the capitol his response was "They're not flying they're hanging."
He didn't use the Lt. Governor's residence in Harrisburg, but since it has a big pool he found some kids' groups who could use it during the summer.
A bridge falls down in Pittsburgh and this fuckin Yinzer goes out in his finest Pennsylvania tuxedo to talk to the president about it.
I'm so goddamn proud to have him as my Senator.
Honestly, I’m kinda jealous.
We need more like him- everywhere. Dude actually cares. Even most dems don’t really care about their specific constituents like that.
He cares so much about everyone that when PA was talking about changing marijuana access he went on a statewide listening tour to all sixty-seven counties, even ones like Potter and Tioga counties where the deer outnumber the people and nearly all of those people vote Republican.
His campaign slogan was "Every County. Every Vote." He really wants to represent everybody in PA, not just the Philadelphia suburbs.
He cares and he doesn't play the same bullshit equivocation games that the rest of the Dems play. The GOP is full of screaming gibbons that offer nothing of substance and therefore are to be ignored and ridiculed until they can discuss the real problems like adults
I really appreciate him for being very honest about mental health.
What a goddamned legend. I love this no-bullshit giant of a man
Why does Fetterman, the largest senator, not simply eat the other 99?
Look at Mitch McTurtle and tell me what you think he tastes like.
Look at Mitch McTurtle and tell me what you think he tastes like.
He would taste like foul garbage.
Turtle soup is a delicacy in some cultures. He's got to be about the worst tasting turtle in the world though.
Galapagos Tortises are famously so delicious that biologists had great difficulty getting one to England alive
Dems need to find more guys like fetterman
Normally I don't like to support someone for presidency unless they have a lot of national experience and have a very good chance of winning, but I would support a Fetterman campaign in a heartbeat. The guy is incredibly genuine and doesn't give a fuck about the bad norms and decorum we have in society.
Hell to the yeah.
More of this guy pls thx.
his reaction was unfettered
, man.

This is the best summary I could come up with:
on Tuesday feigned a shocked reaction when asked about Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) announcement that he would direct House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden.
“Oh my god, really?” Fetterman said, raising his hands to the side of his head, when asked by an NBC journalist about the McCarthy news.
Fetterman continued to dismiss any concerns about the threat of an impeachment inquiry, reposting the video on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, adding a skull emoji and writing, “oooOoooooOooo.”
Last week, as House Republicans increased the pressure on McCarthy to open the inquiry, Fetterman said, “Go ahead.
Fetterman’s comments Tuesday came hours after McCarthy formally announced he would direct House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.)
And regardless of your party, or who you voted for, these facts should concern all Americans,” McCarthy said Tuesday.
