Whack, I guess that means it won't be on YouTube for free anymore

This is one of the very few movies I watch every couple of years. Glad to see it getting a new release.

There seems to be more demand for pre-2008 releases than current films being produced lol

It makes sense. People used to have original ideas and studios used to "take risks" (they used to call it "doing business") on new movies.

Is Kevin Smith going to protest the movie this time as well?

[-] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 8 points 11 hours ago

No Weinstein isn't apart of it this time.

Just give me a 4K UHD cut and I’ll be a happy camper

Can we do Chasing Amy as well?

[-] Blaze@sopuli.xyz 8 points 19 hours ago

Is that another rights issue?

Smith recently got the rights to Dogma back. He couldn’t rerelease until he did.

Ah right! Sorry long day here.

Idk that Chasing Amy holds up as well. It's a bit problematic.

Great film, aged SUPER poorly. They act as if lesbian women are a different species, and it still revolves around Ben Affleck being a whiny bitch over a girl he thinks he's entitled to. I would cringe if I was Kevin Smith revisiting Chasing Amy.

Kevin Smith has even come out saying the movie didn't age well, but that some of the concepts the movie was discussing didn't have a vocabulary for them. It probably also wasn't ideal for a heteronormative white guy to be the writer-director.

But the movie got made and it tried to have a good faith argument of what was being discussed and trying to have that conversation at that time was probably better for the LGBT+ community than not.
