please be a maga shirt please be maga shirt

The shirt read, "Do not give in to the war within. End veteran suicide."

Damn. And also seriously?

[-] unemployedclaquer@sopuli.xyz 75 points 1 year ago

And

This isn't the first time Delta has removed someone off a flight for how they dressed.

In March, Lisa Archbold held a news conference with her attorney, Gloria Allred, and explained how on a Delta flight to SFO she was asked to deplane due to her choice of clothing. Archbold said she believes the airline had a problem with her not wearing a bra under her shirt and was told, "Women must cover-up."

[-] mindaika@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 year ago

Oh they messed the punctuation up:

“Do not give! In to the war? Within: end veteran. Suicide!”

Lionel Hutz, Marine Councilor?

[-] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

I'm gonna need to see the shirt, not just read what the slogan said. I can't make any judgement until then because there could very well be more to the story. I'm leaning toward Delta being ridiculous especially if it was just words on a shirt But what if the shirt had someone hanging from a noose or dead from a gunshot wound? What if it looks like the shirt was covered in blood? More context is needed.

[-] thesystemisdown@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

They show the shirt in the video. It's a plain black t with white and red lettering.

Edit: The shirt appears at the 28 second mark.

So what if there was a noose or blood depicted? Thats none of their business.

[-] Burninator05@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe the shirt had some "offensive" picture on it but the first thee pages of a Google search for "don't give in to the war within shirt" just shows shirts with the words on it and sometimes an American flag. Someome on the flight was an asshole and complained putting Delta in a lose/lose position.

So Delta supports veteran suicide.

I'm surprised they don't put that in their ads.

[-] Myxomatosis@lemmy.world 75 points 1 year ago

I’m a veteran and every time I’ve flown Delta, it’s made me want to kill myself. So this tracks.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

You don't even have to be a veteran!

[-] yeahiknow3@lemmings.world 66 points 1 year ago

Delta airlines is pro suicide.

[-] Donjuanme@lemmy.world 32 points 1 year ago

Pro veteran suicide.

[-] lolcatnip@reddthat.com 56 points 1 year ago

Suicide prevention is so threatening!

[-] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 39 points 1 year ago

"delta representative confirms delta is pro veteran suicide" should be the headline everywhere.

[-] magnetosphere@fedia.io 33 points 1 year ago

That’s absurd. The shirt wasn’t even remotely threatening. Did another passenger complain? Did the flight attendant do this on their own authority? If, after changing, she was dressed appropriately enough to fly, why was she forced to sit in a different seat?

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 31 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The male flight attendant saw she was braless and wanted to see some tits.

She could have just as easily been allowed to change in the bathroom. They could have just as easily had a female colleague handle it.

He could have allowed her just to put the sweatshirt on over it, too.

But nope. He made deplane (isolating her), then change while he watched.

[-] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago

Because that flight attendant was a power-tripping cunt.

[-] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Mental note: Delta flight attendants are absolute fucking pieces of shit, and I should never fly Delta.

[-] tover153@lemmynsfw.com 10 points 1 year ago

Never will I fly Delta again.

[-] immutable@lemm.ee 24 points 1 year ago

As a Bay Area resident, what the absolute fuck? Is delta in favor of veteran suicide. For something to be “threatening” there has to be some sort of articulable threat. Who was the flight attendant white knighting for, the grim reaper?

Fuck delta

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

Watched her change. Wasn’t about the message. It’s about what was under the message.

[-] RubberElectrons@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Hope there's real consequences for that attendant, considering.

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 year ago

That attendant should be fired.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

HOW DARE YOU THREATEN TO NOT WANT TO LET VETERANS KILL THEMSELVES!!!!!

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

TIL you can become a flight attendant if you're illiterate.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

It's a thankless job with low pay. I guess they've really lowered their barrier for entry.
