I can hear the dinosaur in it…

[-] stelelor@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 hours ago

Sounds just like the sounds newer trucks make when they back up: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A3Wt1_51EVA

[-] macrocarpa@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

If memory serves me correctly it's named for the sound it makes

Kiiiiii wiiiiiiii

[-] Syd@lemm.ee 1 points 46 minutes ago

Yeah its exactly like a Pokemon. I had no idea they went "kiwi kiwi" in a cute voice like this.

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago

I don't believe this is a real animal.

[-] wabafee@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

It's a fruit

[-] GreyEyedGhost@lemmy.ca 13 points 9 hours ago

This is the sound of an animal with no natural predators.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 15 points 10 hours ago

When it ran away was pretty great.

[-] capital@lemmy.world 6 points 9 hours ago

“Until next time”

>barges into view
>releases 20,000 demons
>refuses to elaborate
>and he waddled away (waddle waddle)

[-] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 15 points 13 hours ago

Screams of a thousand dark souls...

[-] Flocklesscrow@lemm.ee 22 points 17 hours ago
[-] limitsomething@lemmy.ml 3 points 15 hours ago

And that's what you really need to wake up

[-] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 5 points 13 hours ago

I actually wasn't expecting it to be that shade of color either.

[-] HappycamperNZ@lemmy.world 8 points 12 hours ago

They are brown - just looks like that with the spotlight

[-] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

Thanks! Was about to ask about the Darwinian prospects of a flightless, wingless avian colored like a medium rare steak.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 18 points 17 hours ago

I eat kiwi all the time and I ain't never heard them make a sound.

[-] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca 7 points 15 hours ago

They're obviously dead before they put the them out at the grocery store. I bet you don't see yours running around outside either.

[-] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 71 points 21 hours ago

Ah, so the kiwi has a bird body but still uses its dinosaur voice.

[-] oce@jlai.lu 99 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

I like how it leaves in a swiggity swooty fashion.

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 18 points 16 hours ago

How have I never noticed that these goobers don't have arms or nothin. I can't imagine this thing walking in any way other than a swiggity swooty approach.

This is God's creature right here.

[-] tabarnaski@sh.itjust.works 6 points 13 hours ago

I had to rewatch the video to make sure I got an exact image of what swiggity swooty means

[-] jrwperformance@lemmy.world 51 points 21 hours ago

Nightmare Potato.

[-] tiramichu@lemm.ee 35 points 20 hours ago

This is a dinosaur

[-] Caligvla@lemmy.dbzer0.com 71 points 22 hours ago

I thought kiwis spoke English.

[-] magikmw@lemm.ee 36 points 21 hours ago

They do have a funny way of speaking it.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

My favorite author is a kiwi who writes In English and teaches it, but for all I know she sounds like the video

Sounds just like the fruit.

[-] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 41 points 22 hours ago

There is currently chaos in my house. I played this on my phone without headphones and my dogs have absolutely lost their shit. The Miniature Pinscher, being a Miniature Pinscher, was barking and spinning and occasionally attacking his spaniel brother who just has this "WTF BRO" face of horror on. Mayhem.

PS: He's calmed down...after a close to ten minute freak out.

[-] kaffiene@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

My cat just had a very similar response =)

[-] tpihkal@lemmy.world 28 points 21 hours ago
[-] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 17 points 20 hours ago

As it goes with Min-Pins, he couldn't give less of a shit the second time around. He's over it.

[-] GiddyGap@lemm.ee 22 points 21 hours ago

Also a very interesting run style.

[-] Nightsoul@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

That sounds like a pokemon

[-] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 22 points 23 hours ago

So melodious.

[-] CheeryLBottom@lemmy.world 14 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

That's some Jurassic Park stuff, right there

[-] OpenStars@discuss.online 18 points 22 hours ago

I suddenly understand the inspiration behind shows like Lost being made:-).

Who triggered the robot's theft alarm?

[-] user1234@lemmynsfw.com 12 points 21 hours ago

Sounds like a slipping serpentine belt.

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.
