This is 90% what I expected a kiwi to sound like.

[-] stelelor@lemmy.ca 14 points 9 hours ago

Sounds just like the sounds newer trucks make when they back up: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A3Wt1_51EVA

I can hear the dinosaur in it…

[-] thegreatgarbo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Husband: I want one of those! /s

Wife: who needs a rooster when you can hear that all night long??

[-] macrocarpa@lemmy.world 6 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

If memory serves me correctly it's named for the sound it makes

Kiiiiii wiiiiiiii

[-] Syd@lemm.ee 5 points 7 hours ago

Yeah its exactly like a Pokemon. I had no idea they went "kiwi kiwi" in a cute voice like this.

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 14 points 13 hours ago

I don't believe this is a real animal.

[-] thegreatgarbo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

Birds aren't real

[-] wabafee@lemmy.world 11 points 9 hours ago

It's a fruit

[-] GreyEyedGhost@lemmy.ca 22 points 16 hours ago

This is the sound of an animal with no natural predators.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 25 points 17 hours ago

When it ran away was pretty great.

My job here is done! Away!

Screams of a thousand dark souls...

[-] oce@jlai.lu 111 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I like how it leaves in a swiggity swooty fashion.

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 25 points 22 hours ago

How have I never noticed that these goobers don't have arms or nothin. I can't imagine this thing walking in any way other than a swiggity swooty approach.

This is God's creature right here.

[-] tabarnaski@sh.itjust.works 8 points 20 hours ago

I had to rewatch the video to make sure I got an exact image of what swiggity swooty means

[-] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 77 points 1 day ago

Ah, so the kiwi has a bird body but still uses its dinosaur voice.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 25 points 23 hours ago

I eat kiwi all the time and I ain't never heard them make a sound.

[-] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca 9 points 22 hours ago

They're obviously dead before they put the them out at the grocery store. I bet you don't see yours running around outside either.

[-] limitsomething@lemmy.ml 4 points 21 hours ago

And that's what you really need to wake up

[-] Caligvla@lemmy.dbzer0.com 81 points 1 day ago

I thought kiwis spoke English.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

My favorite author is a kiwi who writes In English and teaches it, but for all I know she sounds like the video

Nightmare Potato.

[-] tiramichu@lemm.ee 37 points 1 day ago

This is a dinosaur

[-] glitch1985@lemmy.world 33 points 1 day ago

Sounds just like the fruit.

[-] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 6 points 19 hours ago

I actually wasn't expecting it to be that shade of color either.

[-] HappycamperNZ@lemmy.world 10 points 19 hours ago

They are brown - just looks like that with the spotlight

[-] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 6 points 19 hours ago

Thanks! Was about to ask about the Darwinian prospects of a flightless, wingless avian colored like a medium rare steak.

[-] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 48 points 1 day ago

There is currently chaos in my house. I played this on my phone without headphones and my dogs have absolutely lost their shit. The Miniature Pinscher, being a Miniature Pinscher, was barking and spinning and occasionally attacking his spaniel brother who just has this "WTF BRO" face of horror on. Mayhem.

PS: He's calmed down...after a close to ten minute freak out.

[-] thegreatgarbo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Yep, our Iggy ran all the way out to the back yard prancing around tail up, barking at the intruder back inside the house. The other two are sitting in bed with me with a 'wtf was that!' expression.

[-] kaffiene@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago

My cat just had a very similar response =)

[-] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 22 points 1 day ago

As it goes with Min-Pins, he couldn't give less of a shit the second time around. He's over it.

[-] GiddyGap@lemm.ee 24 points 1 day ago

Also a very interesting run style.

[-] expatriado@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago

slowed down would sound like the stereotypical t-rex

[-] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago

So melodious.

[-] OpenStars@discuss.online 20 points 1 day ago

I suddenly understand the inspiration behind shows like Lost being made:-).

[-] jawa21@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 20 hours ago

I'm still bitter about the ending.

[-] OpenStars@discuss.online 4 points 20 hours ago

I kept waiting for the show to be finished being made. I didn't want like a Game of Thrones scenario (even though that one hadn't happened yet:-).

Finally I relented and watched season 1. It was so good! Then I heard about the show's ending and... never bothered to watch the rest.:-(

I guess it saved me a bunch of time, so there's that. 🙄

[-] CheeryLBottom@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That's some Jurassic Park stuff, right there

[-] user1234@lemmynsfw.com 14 points 1 day ago

Sounds like a slipping serpentine belt.

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.
