I’m really disappointed that there must be a great pun here and I can’t think of it!

Police Chief/Constable?

Personal Computer?

Private Contractor?

Pinball Collector?

We should use the same acronyms for wildly various things without any explanations; that'll save a ton of time

In this context it means Police Constable. Although the. BBC have since changed the title to be "detective" instead now.

Rightly so, as the article originally stated he was a detective and not a regular constable.

Either way, using acronyms where they aren't necessary, especially popular ones with multiple meanings, is a genuinely terrible idea.

Thanks for sharing the article nonetheless.
