Also 89,923 Americans voted for her. This is all according to 270towin.com

So that means a small fraction of Americans are somewhat cool

Unfortunately, the most realistic read on the PSL campaign is that it was a significant failure. PSL got about 100k votes nationwide, compared to about 626k for RFK Jr. When you're far outpaced by a guy who dropped out months ago, you have to call that what it is. And this was an election where maybe 20 million fewer people voted than four years ago -- you can't pull in any meaningful chunk of that?

Really surprised to see such staunch conservative strongholds like Florida and Tennesssee so strongly represented. Finally, one thing I can be proud of my state of birth for!

[-] pinguinu@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 18 hours ago

Could be because (some) voters already think voting dem is a lost cause. I wonder how many people voted Green there too. We have to keep in mind that voters are not militants, so they may or may not be stronger there in terms of rank and file.

Commiefornia? Surprising that florida is that large.

Still the graph is a bit misleading, would be more interesting to show a different graph with the % of people in those states that voted for her.

[-] BRINGit34@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

I could do that but it seemed less interesting. They were all less than 1% so we already know most Americans won't vote communist.

But with this we can see who voted communist and where

It's ever so slightly more interesting imho

edit: wording

The bigger issue I see with this map is it is going to loosly corilate to the size of a state where even though we are dealing with less than a percentage per state, the map of votes cast as a percentage would give us a better understanding of where each state stands

[-] muad_dibber@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 17 hours ago

For sure, without adjusting per-capita, this is just a pie chart of the most populous states.

[-] BRINGit34@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 17 hours ago

I see what ya mean.

Let me try making a different one

[-] CommunistBear@hexbear.net 34 points 23 hours ago

Have they not counted the write ins yet? Because I had to write in Claudia and yet don't see anything about her for my state. She had official write in status too

[-] Drewfro66@lemmygrad.ml 21 points 23 hours ago

They haven't; the campaign is waiting for those results to trickle in over the next week before releasing official counts.

[-] BRINGit34@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 22 hours ago

Nah this is just what is released so far. I imagine it is fairly indicative of the final result. But who knows

[-] sawne128@hexbear.net 2 points 17 hours ago

They've only counted like half of California's votes.

[-] sweet_pecan@hexbear.net 3 points 19 hours ago

write-ins should make a big difference.

[-] TheLepidopterists@hexbear.net 7 points 23 hours ago

Same, I don't even see her on the count at all, just like, Trump, Harris, some libertarian dweeb, maybe Stein can't remember

[-] evanstucker@lemmy.ml 9 points 22 hours ago

Join https://equal.vote/ and help make STAR voting a reality for 2028! I bet a lot more people would have voted Socialist if they weren't terrorized into voting anti-Trump.

[-] landlords_morghulis@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 17 hours ago

You cannot vote your way out of capitalism.

[-] CutieBootieTootie@hexbear.net 8 points 18 hours ago

The ruling class of this country will not allow this to happen because it would clearly mean they lose power

[-] BRINGit34@lemmygrad.ml 17 points 22 hours ago

They would never let that happen
