"Safely" Safe from what exactly?

[-] kubica@fedia.io 47 points 2 months ago

Safe from healthy competitive markets?

[-] ZeDoTelhado@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Safe from your privacy of course. How else can they know what are you playing at all times

Its ok sony. I have other ways of playing your games

[-] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 38 points 2 months ago

Oh look, a boss lying to his customers.

[-] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 32 points 2 months ago

The CEO explanation is why I haven't purchased any Sony games since Helldivers 2. The first time they were greedy with customer data was enough to know that one of the most hacked companies in the world isn't concerned with the safety of others. They want all that juicy usage data and are losing money by not having a team compile the insights and selling it by the first weeks after launch.

Sony is a parasite.

Only time I've had unauthorized access to my PayPal was from fucking Sony so they get nothing from me.

[-] the_post_of_tom_joad@sh.itjust.works 26 points 2 months ago

Fuck the boss, man. When have they known shit? Gotta stop asking em things like we don't know the answer. I'd be interested in the opinion of one of the devs maybe, but never the ceo. They're as useless and predictable as a magic 8 ball

[-] ryper@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

But the dev's reason for the account requirement will just be "the boss said so"...

Yeah what i mean is it's stupid to ask people who don't care about the product or the consumer, "why?". This is an anti-consumer move clearly designed to make the ceo more money. So why even ask? Unnecessary. Asking them is begging them to lie to your face.

Man, God of War Ragnarok was a fun game. Too bad they didn't want me to pay for it.

[-] MonkderVierte@lemmy.ml 17 points 2 months ago

But for the live service games […]

Which the game isn't one.

[-] babybus@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 months ago

I agree that they should keep games safe from PlayStation accounts.

[-] skozzii@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I will never buy a playstation product. Even sony I avoid at all costs because of how they run playstation, and I spent 20k on canon camera equipment to avoid their photography equipment, which is arguably better.

"WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN DO YOU WANT THE TERRORISTS TO WIN?? Now shut up and give us your private data and let us control your access to 'your' games."

  • Sony boss

Fuck anyone who forces anyone else to compromise their privacy for the sake of “safety.” Just fuck right off.

[-] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 months ago

Really ups the clarion call to pirate the hell out of it (or not play it at all).
