I'm not sure what I'm looking for, so I apologize if this doesn't make sense. I don't mean "anything goes" places like 196, and I don't mean memes or joke or casual conversation communities either. I'm just wondering if there are communities with a loose set of rules where people can reply to a prompt in a game like manner, for example "repeat the same but change one word only", or " wrong answers only", I don't know, I'm open to suggestions for anything gamelike I haven't heard of.

There is !askouija@lemmy.world where only one letter answers are allowed. This leads to some fun answers sometimes.

There was a subreddit that I remember that was something like 'real life the game' in which people talked about real world events/ and role played as if the real world were a video game.

Things like "I saw in the patch notes that the wildfire event was happening in California again this year, when are the devs going to retire this one?" Or something like "my boyfriend and I have been playing together for four years, and today we got married in game!" And some people would add on to the posts too, adding like, "Hey OP, I attended the wedding and you looked so happy up on the stage! Wishing you both the best! Also did anyone else feel bad after eating the salmon dish?"

They didn't really know the person, but people would just play along with the roleplay.

That sounds cool, kind of like TierZoo logic

I think hilariouschaos.com has some communities like that, although they aren't very active at the moment. But they have stuff for "game" threads like !askouija@hilariouschaos.com and !sfah@hilariouschaos.com (scenes from a hat).

Is there a connection I'm not aware of?
