I've been thinking that the "memes" posted in some lemmy comms are super low quality shit scraped off Facebook. and the commenters in those threads often kinda sound like they're all one really weird nerd.

Yeah some of those memes feel like boomer's first meme page from eight years ago. I was kinda surprised and just wondering if I had been so immersed in the Hexbear humour stack that I forgot what normie memes were like.
