Impressive that they were able to generate a pull request with blank screens.

[-] WhatsHerBucket@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago

Probably the MacBook sitting next to the ridiculous keyboard.

Even still.. I’ve seen devs do it with equally blank stares.

FYI: That is statistically not good for you or your boss. People who take lunches and breaks (even when forced to) are more productive than those who don't (on average) enough to offset lost time.

Also you should check social media and connect with loved ones between tasks to maximize your morale and productivity.

I feel like the "no work" part is probably worse

[-] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 11 months ago

I didn't see that.

[-] plz1@lemmy.world 19 points 11 months ago

Tell that to retail. "Coverage" is more important than "work productivity".

Am I alone in saying that the phrase "raw dogged" needs to die?

[-] dependencyinjection@discuss.tchncs.de 26 points 11 months ago

I don’t mind it, but I’m interested in hearing some alternative suggestions?

How about "dry dogged"? Who wouldn't want to be dry dogged?

[-] phorq@lemmy.ml 1 points 11 months ago

Aquaman? Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy would be into it though.

I call 'faked':

  • left hand is weird
  • keyboard is weird
  • great big speakers on the desk
  • no one wears hats indoors and is smart enough for knowledge work
[-] dependencyinjection@discuss.tchncs.de 18 points 11 months ago

I agree, except for hat indoors. I’m a software engineer and I wear a cap all the time. Literally whenever out the house.

Guess you've never seen Dom Dolla

Monitor stand on left monitor doesn't line up

Logos on speakers are different sizes

Nothing on the desk calendar

What the hell is going on with that alligator figurine

Yeah lots of problems with this picture

[-] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 8 points 11 months ago

I wear hats 99% of days, but I am going to be unemployed in a week so maybe you're on to something. My near-perfect SATs might argue but it's not an excellent argument.

[-] HowAbt2morrow@futurology.today 3 points 11 months ago

The MAGAesque hat and undercover agent mustache makes this slightly more believable to me.

[-] ByteOnBikes@slrpnk.net 27 points 11 months ago

What does "new PR" mean?

In programming, it's a request to combine code. But if homie is rawdogging work with blank screens, I'm not following.

[-] MimicJar@lemmy.world 45 points 11 months ago

"new PR" -> new personal record

[-] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 15 points 11 months ago

Personal Record.

Took me a minute too because I'm used to the term "PB" from speedrunning

[-] reallykindasorta@slrpnk.net 9 points 11 months ago

Personal record

[-] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago
