Just wait until they hit their first layoff. I still remember mine...I had to console the person that came to get me and bring me to "the room". The dot Com bust was well underway, I saw it coming from a mile away. I was prepared. She was not. She had done this to 4 other people before me that morning and was having a hard time with it. I knew by the look on her face what was happening before she even said anything. My manager was a dick about it, but I still felt bad for her more than myself.
I really would have liked being a fly on the wall watching a firee console the firer.
Happened to me. Got laid off from my dream job and my manager was holding back tears as much as I was.
I felt bad for him for awhile, but ultimately realized he was still the one that chose me over others to let go just because I was last in the door (nevermind that I uprooted and moved halfway across the country for that job).
That sucks man. Sorry that happened to you. I hope you're doing ok today though, sending good vibes 🫂
Almost 12 months since I was laid off! Dozens of companies I've had 5-7 step interviews with. Don't worry, it gets worse.
Got any more of them pixels?
They did, but Lemmy said "That image is too large!"
Capitalism baby! That's all the pixels they'd sell me.
This isn't even that bad. It's the small af text in the caption on the bottom panel that's the problem.
